Hello Champions, I have got news for you!
First of all, something fun. Book Nerd Paradise is running a “Favorites Giveaway” and is giving away an Amazon gift card so readers can purchase a favorite book! I am extremely honored to say one of the favorites she mentioned happens to be Snow Queen: Heart of Ice, which is how I found out about it. (Thanks Ashley!) Click here to check out the giveaway and enter it! She has some other great books listed, so if you aren’t interested in the contest you can check out her recommendations.
Up next! I’ve been hankering to make some kind of list or reading group on Goodreads since I started connecting with you guys, because you, Champions, have the best book recommendations. I’m serious. You know my reading style better than the “You May Also Like” feature on Amazon. Because we all have such similar reading tastes, I thought it would be in our best interest to pool our resources and create lists of books we love. I polled my Facebook Champions for list ideas, and so far we have two: Clean Kindle Unlimited Reads, and Sweet and Clean Romances! Clean KU Reads went up last night, and Sweet and Clean Romances went live a few hours ago, and already I am in so much trouble because there are so many books I want to read. Anyway, if you’re a Goodreads member please join in the fun and add to the lists! If you don’t have a Goodreads account you can still peruse the list, you just won’t be able to comment or add anything. I’ll be adding links somewhere in the website so you guys can find the lists easily. (I’ll make the announcement again when I find a home for the links.) I can’t wait to see everything you guys come up with!

And now for some writing news! As you might have guessed based on the photo, I have officially started writing Swan Lake–the next Timeless Fairy Tale that should pop out sometime this summer. Editor #2 is still diligently working away on SQ 2, but she’ll be getting it back to me sometime next week, so we are closing in on the release date for Snow Queen 2! (Yes, I’m still struggling to come up with a title.)
Finally, King Arthur fans, I have good news and I have bad news. Bad news first: you aren’t going to get three short King Arthur books to finish the series. The good news: You are going to get one full-length novel! Here’s what happened: I looked at the story lines I wanted to use for the last three books, and I realized if I split the story up it wouldn’t flow nicely like the previous short, episodic books. The last three story lines are too intertwined to make that work, so I decided to write a full-length King Arthurs novel instead so you would get the story in one awesome package. The added bad news is that you probably won’t see it until fall due to the writing I need to get done to stay on my editing schedule with Editors #1 and #2. Still, a full length novel about Britt and her boys! Woohoo!
That is it for today, Champions. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this update! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some amazing book recommendations to go try out…
That good news about King Arthur series made my day! I haven’t read Endeavour yet but I guess I’ll just wait for the last book to be released so I can binge read the whole series.
Smart move! Everyone says Endeavor ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, and it really leads into what the final book will be about, so not reading it yet will probably make the wait a little easier on you. 🙂
I’m marking my calendar now! I’m so looking forward for it.
I hope you will enjoy it! 🙂 It was REALLY fun to write, but I’m anxious to hear what everyone thinks of it.
ok, so i have been impatiently waiting for snow queen book 2 when i noticed you say you are having a hard time coming up with a title. i liked how you used the saying heart of ice in the first because if fit with how people looked at her, so what if you used something like snow queen’s icy grip for the second book since she is trying to keep a “grip” on her country.
The day before you sent this comment I finalized the cover art with Myrrhlynn–we went with the title of “Sacrifice”–but thank you for the help! 🙂 (Good news, Sacrifice should be ready for release within a week, provided all goes well.)
I can’t for more books! (especially Swan Lake) 🙂
I’m so glad to hear that! I was determined to include Swan Lake, but I wasn’t sure how many Champions would consider it a fairy tale and would want to read it. (Which is a shame, because it’s an interesting story!)
I can’t wait for the next Arthur’s book but if its full length,I will try to hold out that long
?
🙂 Thanks for your patience! Hopefully it will be worth the wait. I’ve been planning the ending since I started the series, actually, so I’m really looking forward to writing it!
Oh my gosh, I just wanted to stop by and thank you so much for sharing my giveaway. I try to feature different authors for all the giveaway hops and it makes my day when you guys stumble across them! Words can’t express how much I loved The Snow Queen and I hope you get some exposure from the giveaway. It really just is a fantastic story. I’m beyond ecstatic for the next book. Thanks again!
Hi Ashley, I was so honored when I saw your favorites post, and I’m very happy to hear you enjoyed the book! Thank you for featuring Heart of Ice, and good luck with the giveaway. 🙂
A full-length King Arthurs book will *definitely* be worth the wait!!! I’m so exited!!
I thought that you would like this little story…
My littlest sister was sad one day because she wanted to pretend to be Robin Hood – but a girl – and felt like that would be stretching things too much. I told her the gist of your Robyn Hood stories, and now she just can’t wait until she is old enough to read them! She thought that it was “the BEST idea EVER!!”
I’m so glad that I discovered your books!
Awww, that story about your sister is so sweet! Thank you for sharing, that really brightened my day. And I’m so glad you discovered my stories too! 😉
Yep. Clicked on that reading list, and over half of the books on it I’d already read or had on my tbr-I have found my people :3.
And oh my gosh! A full-length King Arthurs novel? Eeeep! I am more than happy to wait for it-that’s such exciting news! Man, you really spoil your fans with so many quality releases every year. 😀
Also-I purposefully delayed reading Snow Queen for this month so it would be fresh in my mind when you published the next one, and I just had to say I think it’s your best one yet (not sure if it beats out Rumplestiltskin as my favorite, but it’s up there). Your writing has improved so much since Robyn Hood-not that it was bad back then, but wow, it was awesome. I picked it up this evening-just to read fifteen minutes, and it’s now one in the morning and I just finished it :P. Rakel is such a cool character, and I really like how you left so many tantalizing hints/mysteries for the next one while tying up the main bits in this one. (Though, quick question-how do you pronounce Phile? Feel? File? Fill-eigh?)
High five for excellent taste in books! I was telling another commentor that I am especially thrilled because previously I read almost YA exclusively, but now I finally have a decent adult reading list! Woohoo!
And I’m so glad to hear you are embracing the King Arthurs news. I didn’t really know how everyone would take it, but I felt strongly that everyone would enjoy a full length novel instead of three books chopped for the sake of making it three books.
As for Snow Queen, I am thrilled you enjoyed it! I am especially delighted to hear that you can see the improvement in the quality of my writing. I try to take my writing craft very seriously, and my editors have played vital roles in helping me improve. (Although I don’t think poor Editor #1 will ever truly get me to understand punctuation.)
Final note–Phile is a Greek name, so it’s pronounced sort of like the “Phil” of “Philadelphia.” Here is a link to an auditory pronunciation guide: http://www.pronouncenames.com/pronounce/PHILE
Oh, thank you! That’s an awesome site 😀
It is! It’s a miracle if I don’t slaughter the English language on a normal day, so pronouncing names is almost always beyond my reach. I was so glad when I found that place!
I’m so excited about a full length King Arthurs novel!!! Woohoo!
I’m glad you don’t mind the change! I was feeling a little guilty about it because now it will have a delayed release, but I genuinely think you guys would have been unhappy with the cliff hangers I would have resorted to in order to chop the stories apart. Heck, I was unhappy just trying to plot it!
I love this! Thanks so much for making a list!!!! I am always looking for good clean books! Awesome!!
You’re welcome–though I can’t really take the credit for populating the lists. I only had about 10-15 books for each list. (To start with, anyway.) I am very excited about the lists, though. I don’t usually bother trying to read adult books because finding a clean one takes forever, so this is going to be so much fun!
