Welcome, Champions, to the FIRST ANNUAL HEROINE POLL! Answer in the poll below your favorite K. M. Shea Heroine! You can vote three times–so choose wisely! The poll will be open from today (June 1) through Thursday, June 15–so you guys have two weeks to cast your ballot!
Once the poll is closed, I’m going to take the time to discuss the results of this year’s polls–both the favorite hero and favorite heroine–so we should have some fun discussion in the future.
As a side note, are you interested in holding a “favorite secondary character” poll? If so, mention that in the comments below. I’m trying to decide if I should go that far or not. But, enough chatter, here it is!
I look forward to seeing the results–it’s always fascinating to witness. Thanks for reading, Champions, and thank you for voting in the poll!
I’d LOVE to see a secondary character poll!! I think that’d have really interesting results, and it’d be a good challenge 🙂
The only thing that might be challenging is just the sheer SIZE of the poll! I might have to double characters up according to books, or there will be like 100 entries. O_O
This was one of the hardest polls, because I love all the heroines collectively and individually. Regardless of their individual personalities, they are each principled, strong women. I love that about them and as a result had the hardest time saying which ones I liked best. I like each of them for various, and I think, important ideas and principles they demonstrate that are so important to living a good life. This is in large part why I am so grateful to be able to recommend Kitty’s books to my young, impressionable family members without having to give any qualifier on the appropriateness of the story. Thank you, once again Kitty, for the fun, good adventures you provide. I truly look forward to seeing what you come up with next. And I’m just a little jealous of your talent for story telling. I don’t have that talent, but I enjoy reading good stories out loud to family members when I have a chance so I try to make up for my lack of imagination with fun, effective and entertaining readings of good stories. We have so much fun with your stories, so thank you again. They are truly delightful.
Awwwww, Thanks Arletta! You’re too sweet! (I actually got really emotional when I read your comment, so thank you–deeply–for the encouragement!) 😉 And don’t sell yourself short! When I first started writing it was…not pretty. (Oh-my-goodness my first book was AWFUL!!) So don’t give up!
Definitely do a secondary character poll! The hero and heroine wouldn’t be able to do all that they do without their best friends beside them!
Agghh!! Only three!!! How to choose!! I love so many – really, all of them! – for different reasons!!! I did Britt, Tari, and Morgan, but OH it was hard!! I love their spunkiness and refusal to lie down just because. Each is independent and, well, spunky (also very funny!!) but they all care intensely about those around them and have a desire to help, defend, and protect others. They feel real, and they each inspire me!
😀 I’m so glad to hear they inspire you! The three heroines you chose are very close to my heart–I love Britt and Morgan’s humor and brashness, and Tari’s iron-backed sweetness is somehow very endearing to me. 🙂 Thank you for your lovely comment–it was a great encouragement!
I went back and forth between like 7 of them, this was so hard to pick! I love all your heroines, but ended up choosing the ones I felt were the most selfless in great trials, and that I related to best. I would love a supporting character poll! Without great supporting characters, books would fall flat.
It really is difficult – but in the end I went with Cinderella, Rakel, and Britt. (quick, hit enter before I change my mind again…)
Mostly because my particular love is for people who do the right things for the right reason at the right time, and those three are just wonderful at that sort of thing. That whole “benevolent person in charge who is friendly and awesome” thing…
Oh that was a hard choice! My favourite is definitely Ahira- I’ve read Princess Ahira so many times I’m beginning to be able to quote it, and yet I keep re-reading it! The other two characters I chose were Morgan and Robyn- I really love their spunk and humour!
I’d absolutely love a secondary character poll!
Yes! Do a secondary character poll, please! And I agree – thanks so much for doing these, its so fun to see what people think about our favorites
That was harder than I expected. I love most of your heroines! I have so many favorites!!
Man, I had to pick three from my five favorites. So hard to choose… Britt is nice, but I like some of the other ones better. I love Tari (OK, that was because I loved the book, but hey…) and Rakel is an AWESOME character. Vulnerable without being angsty, and still strong. And then there is Dylan (I loved her character…) and Elle and Gemma with their sense of humor…so hard to choose.
Definitely do a ‘favorite secondary characters’ poll!
It’s so hard to choose between such awesome heroines I need like 7 votes
How can you do this to us??!! There are too many awesome women to choose from. It is way too hard to only pick three.
Yes please do a secondary character poll!
Man….it’s so hard to pick a top favorite. It’s a very close tie between Rakel and Britt (is there any other kind of tie? haha), and I think Tari comes in third. Many of the others have always seemed very close in personality to each other, but those three stand out, Rakel especially. She is one of the most vulnerable heroines I’ve ever encountered in my reading and is SOOOO endearing. But then there’s Britt, who is just so awesome in every way….so yeah, you see my dilemma. Thanks for letting us choose three!! Haha!
Yes to a secondary characters poll! BTW, thanks for having these polls – superfun to reminisce about the characters and see what others thought of them too.
Do a secondary poll! It would be great. I love quiet a few secondary charachters and would love to see them represented!
Awesome! I have, in general like the heroines better anyway 😉
Depending on how they’re done…
I love Dylan!! She’s one of my favourite characters in the entire series. And Britt is awesome, and Ahira. Kinda hated Odette though… 🙁
Will you do a type of heroine poll? Like with the males? (It’d be interesting with the exact same options as the males)
Anway. Dylan and Britt are awesome. And I like Gemma cause she has the same name as me 🙂
– Jemma
YES! PLEASE do a secondary character poll! Our ladies’ best friends don’t get enough credit.
Also, what ever happened to Cagney and Dooley?
Check the short stories on the website 🙂
