It’s time…for the Frog Prince Cover Reveal!
Ta da! Another masterpiece brought to you by Myrrhlynn! This is the first time a Timeless Fairy Tale features the heroine AND the hero–though I don’t think Lucien would be pleased to learn it’s him in his frog form. Myrrhlynn actually specifically picked this photo because the girl was looking down, so she could make it look like Ariane was looking at froggy Lucien. Thanks, Myrrhlynn, for another beautiful cover! (And for the laugh, hahah it warms the cockles of my heart to see Lucien turned low. Buwahah!)
I think it’s especially fun that Lucien is on the cover because you get to see a lot of the book from his perspective. I often include a handful of scenes from the hero’s perspective–it gives you a chance to see their thoughts about the stories’ events, and also their feelings for the heroine–but since Lucien grows a lot during this story, his point-of-view is featured much more predominantly than any other hero before him. (Though the majority of the story is still from Ariane’s POV.)
I still don’t have a release date for this, but I think it’s safe to say it will be less than three weeks! The delays are not so much from the editing process as much as it is the fact checking process. Since this story involves so many old characters, the work that goes into making sure everyone is portrayed correctly is CRAZY. (Seriously, every time someone goes through it I realize there was another detail I forgot to add or a facet of a character I incorrectly portrayed.)
That’s all for today, Champions! Have a lovely weekend, and thanks for reading!
Woohoo! Can’t wait!!
Ok I honestly hate frogs but I still love this story and I can’t wait to read it!
Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of frogs either, but that was partially why I thought Lucien was perfect for this story, buwahah!
I love your cover arts, fantabulous, but why do you constantly change them?
I actually don’t change them that often, it’s just since I have soooo many books it seems like I’m constantly changing them! 😉 Besides the first MBRC book, very few of my books have had more than one cover change. When we do adjust them it’s because 1) the old style Myrryhlynn had to do was done mostly to spare my wallet, but I can afford better artwork now 2) Marketing reasons. (The MBRC books are an example of this. Though I loved the almost cartoon-ish look of the old covers, the new covers with a girl on it and Chicago in the background are a lot easier to market.)
Oooooooooooohhhhhh!!! Love this cover!!! And I can’t wait to read this book. I’m currently reading B&tB to my younger siblings and seeing Lucien again is making me quite eager for his story.
P.S. You picked a splendid tale for him. Also, do you mind if I share this cover on my personal blog?
Please go ahead and share it! 🙂 I’m glad you like the cover–hopefully you’ll like the story just as much. It should be available for pre-order at the beginning of next week and out by Thursday!
Dear Ms. Shea, the cover is lovely – well done on all of you books!! My favorite books are the ones that make you laugh. They all do, but the MBRC series was hysterical. The other aspect of your stories are your sense of humanity displayed by many of your characters, but especially the heroines and a lot of the heroes. Keep up the great work!!! G
I’m glad you like the MBRC series! I had so much fun with that series because it gave me a chance to poke at a lot of commonly held paranormal themes. (Which I love, or I wouldn’t know them all like the back of my hand.) I hope my future stories continue to make you laugh! 😉
I love all the green in this cover! 8D And I can’t wait to see Lucien’s development! x3
Yeees, I love the green! (It’s my favorite color) 🙂
