Frog Prince is now available! I’m normally pretty tight-lipped about the story at launch, but that’s especially true for Frog Prince given the material that’s covered in it, so not a single word from me! (At least until you Champions get a chance to read it!)
I did want to let you guys know that I’m hoping–next week–to host a short live video event on either Facebook or Youtube so we can chat about the book and I can answer any questions you might have! If you have a preference for which site you want me to use, please leave a comment!
That’s it for today! I really hope you enjoy Frog Prince–I can’t wait to see what you all think!
Okay, that was wonderful! And I have to confess – totally did not see the enemy mastermind’s identity coming. But that was sooooo brilliant – revealing that and making Lucien complete a quest to earn his ladylove all in one stroke. I also loved the matter-of-fact treatment of the kiss. There’s always so much buildup for those kinds of things and sometimes you’re just like, “Oh go on and kiss her/him already!” So it was a hilarious approach. And yeah, of course Pricker Patch bit the kelpie – most natural thing in the world. 😀
Very well done and I so can’t wait for Angelique’s story now. REALLY cool plot development on all that. I do wonder what they’re gonna do about that mirror. If the Snow Queen couldn’t destroy it, I’m not sure if anyone can, but honestly. Next time you talk to your characters please tell them from me that they really can’t be leaving that thing laying around any longer. 😉
I am glad you liked the reveal!! I’ve been dying to talk about it for ages, and I didn’t know if I was setting it up as well as I had hoped. (But it’s not like I could ASK!)
I did have fun with Lucien and Ariane’s version of love too. 😀 It was fun to be able to poke Severin for his stubborn stupidity with Elle, buwahah!
As for the mirror, I’m hoping I’ll have time to write a short about it for Christmas–don’t hold me to that, though, because I’m also currently trying to write 12 Dancing Princesses. So many fairy tales, so little time!
Hi again – sorry for my poor grammar. Ugh!
Hi Ms. Shea – first I want to say I and all your champions are rooting for you to get well at your own pace, Next, thank you for answering all my questions! I would love to read Aysel`s story. Looking forward to your You tube pod cast. Thanks again!
Aww, thank you! 🙂 I really appreciate your support.
Dear Ms. Shea – I have read all your books and love your humor, compassion and great plots. You are a gifted author. I have 3 questions: How do we know when you will be on YouTube next week; will you tell us, via your emails, how to access the pod cast on YouTube and when will you write more books along the style of the MBRC series? I have never laughed so hard!! God knows we need more humor. Anyway, thanks for all your time, energy, hard work and research that go into your stories.
Hi Gail! It looks Like I’ll try to do one facebook live event, and two youtube events at different times. Unfortunately, I’m sick right now and hard to understand, so I’ll probably have to postpone everything until next week when I sound better. (But yes, I’ll post notices everywhere–Facebook, here on the blog, and in my newsletter!)
As for the MBRC series, I DO hope to one day write another book in that series with Aysel and his lady love as the main characters, but first I have my sights set on finishing up my A. M. Sohma series and writing a sequel to Red Rope of Fate.
Thanks for reading, I’m so glad to hear you enjoy my stories! 😀
Yayay! Red Rope of Fate!
yes! Me too!
I don’t know exactly how it works with youtube, but I don’t have facebook. I’d prefer youtube. Also, seconding foxinsox, the way you dealt with the Elise thing was incredibly clever!
Oh, and there are forty reviews now if you combine Amazon and Goodreads. *smiles innocently*
Hahaha, thanks for letting me know! 🙂 (I’m actually sick right now, so I wasn’t doing a very good job of watching everything.)
Aw, I’m sorry you’re sick. I hope you feel better soon, and that it isn’t the flu. 🙂
Thanks! I am getting better… just more slowly than I would like. 😉 (Though, as Rock-Star-Assistant-Meg and Cover Artist Myrrhlynn are prone to reminding me, that might be because I push myself too much when I’m sick.)
I prefer facebook, and east coast evening hours. Would love a live chat! I missed the last one, can’t remember if I was working or on call. I need a list of books and places for people at the summit, I remember the big ones, but some places and people escaped my memory. Another great addition to this series!!
I am hoping to have a character/country encyclopedia put together sometime next year to help you keep everyone straight. (With 9 books in the series–not including the Snow Queen stories–it is a lot of info to know!) But it does look like Youtube is going to win. 😀
Kitty, you knocked it out of the park. I’ve been waiting for this one since I read Beauty and the Beast, and not just Lucien’s book. I had him pegged for the Frog Prince before I even finished Beauty and the Beast. I can’t tell you how ecstatic I am that I was right. I was also really glad to confirm some of my other theories, and gain more evidence for others. However, the single greatest moment of this book for me, not totally sure why, is when Picker Patch bit the kelpie. I literally laughed myself to tears. Honestly while I realized Lucien couldn’t possibly be as thick as he was pretending to be and I just LOVED how the story turned out, I was a little sad because thick in the head Lucien is essentially like cueing comedy hour. I can’t wait for the next book, and I figure that if you do write another Snow Queen book that it will be in the distant future, but I miss those characters a LOT. Rakel and Phile have a relationship that reminds me so much of me and my best friend, and Farrin is my second favorite hero, after Stil of course. Anyway, just needed to vent all of that. That can all be condensed into “OMG YAY THIS IS SO AMAZING YOU HAVE TO READ AND REVIEW RIGHT NOW!!!”
Hahaha, I’m glad you liked Pricker Patch and the Kelpie! 😀 It is fun to bring in the dynamic side characters and see how they interact together.
And I’m also glad you enjoyed the Snow Queen books. Those stories have a really special place in my heart–the characters are very dear to me as well, and I love Rakel’s progression as a character.
YouTube please.
YouTube!
Got it! 😀 Thanks for letting me know!
Oh my gosh! I’m so excited about the new book 😁😁😁 My sisters and I cant wait to start reading it.
(YouTube would be awesome)
I hope you like it! (In particular I hope Lucien and Ariane make you laugh–though there are some fun moments with other heroes/heroines.)
This book is amazing!!!! I finished it a few minutes ago and I’ve spent that time gushing about how good it is to my Mom and my roommates! And posting my review on Amazon, because I can’t wait for the extras! I cannot believe how amazing it is. There are so many things I love about it that explaining would make this comment far too long, and probably fill it with spoilers. Thank you thank you thank you for another wonderful story! Please tell me the next book is coming out soon. 😉
Oh yeah! I don’t know how it would work with the Youtube thing, but I think I know with Facebook. I would probably need an explanation of how to participate either way 🙂
Awww, thanks Maegan! I’m so glad you enjoyed it–and thanks for the review! 😀 And I’m happy to say you won’t have to wait too long for the next book. 12 Dancing Princesses should be out by mid January at the latest.
Yay!!!
Finished! Kind of ten seconds ago, and I so want to say, what INCREDIBLE work you did! I think this is my absolute favorite of your more recent works (even though I might be a little prejudiced because I was waiting for it since timeless fairy tales #1), and I loved how you uncovered Lucien’s cleverness, and how good he’s become! I mean, that love declaration was just a masterpiece, how could anyone not love him after that? And I’m happy he didn’t lose all his smugness, because it suits him, and I think it makes him truer and more handsome. I also liked how level-headed but lively Ariane is, I’m happy she has enough spark to get to him. She and Elle will be thick as thieves, I can just about see it.
And then, and then, there are a lot of other things I liked, but it would be too long to write them all down, so I’m just going to say very, VERY GOOD job!! And thank you!
I agree with you on all those counts! It was THE BOMB!
OK, maybe I didn’t anticipate this story from B&B, but I suspected it might happen.
😀 I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed it!! I fretted quite a bit over how I could redeem Lucien, so I am especially glad you like him. He is a bit of a new kind of hero because, as you mentioned, he still is pretty smug. But it was fun to see Severin and Elle from his point-of-view!
But I have to say thank you staying with me and reading the series. 🙂 I was able to carry the series out this far and deliver that ending because of your loyalty!
YES! I’ve read the whole thing and I am so pumped! (I see you cleverly did not bring in Falk, Rune, or Elise again 😀 so smart) This cleared up a lot of questions (like what will happen next!?), it was so great. WOW this book was so good! I’m working on my review so we can get the freebies.
I’d appreciate it if you would do Youtube, as that is more accessible for me.
Thanks *so much* for the latest book- I’ve hunting through the whole series, looking for hints of countries and stories and maps, and Highlighting them. This got me so excited!
Actually, Elise did make a couple appearances! All the Arcanian siblings plus Gabrielle did except our two corners to Elise’s love triangle and Eric. xD
Ahahah you are correct. I tried to keep it on the down-low. At first it was only going to be Gabi and Steffen, but then Elise INSISTED she come because clearly finances were going to be discussed, and of course the twins had to be present since they’re in charge of the army, and Little Gerhie had to be there because he’s their foreign minister in training. 😉 (Truthfully I think all the siblings would have come if I let them, but I had waaaay too many people to keep track for this story already so it was not happening.)
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It has been SO HARD not to blurt the secret out in various frog posts, but I thought it would be far more satisfying for you guys to read it in the book.
On the character side, though, Lucien was a fun kind of hero to write. Even though he’s not as stupid as he pretends to be, he is still fussy and is a little dense in some areas. (LOL, though, as he pointed out, he would never make the same stupid mistake Severin made in his book!)
I must say that I was looking forward to seeing how Elise’s relationship progressed since Wild Swans, but this story is awesome and I loved that Ariana is always thinking about her broom whenever she battled with the mages. Seeing Elle again was another thing I was looking forward to with many other things… so this story definitely delivered!
This book has caused me to reread all the books over again to find more clues. I am currently rereading Cinderella and the Colonel!
😀 I’m glad you enjoyed it! I did have fun with Ariane–I’m a bit obsessed with cleaning, so I loved being able to share that trait with a character. I hope you enjoy the re-reads! 😀
