Greetings, Champions! I hope you have had a wonderful week. Before we jump in today, I wanted to remind everyone that the Annual Hero Poll is still in full swing–it has about one more week, so if you haven’t voted yet make sure you get your votes in! (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, or if you want to vote, check out this blog post!) A few of you pointed out that it’s especially hard to vote given that the number of guys keeps increasing–which is a pretty valid point! Unfortunately it’s too late for me to do anything about that now, but for this year’s Heroine poll I’ll make sure I give you more votes. 😉
That aside, today I wanted to put the spotlight on the totally awesome Darque Dreamer Reads book blog!
The site is run by an awesome reader who goes by the name Darque Dreamer. She reviews adult, YA, and kids books. And while there’s a lot of stuff I love about her site, one of the things I enjoy about her reviews is that she’s involved in a couple book blogging programs so she gets her hands on books before they’re released so she can review them and let you know if they’re worth your time right away when they come out! (This is helpful to me because I have shiny-cover syndrome, so I tend to impulse buy stuff if I can’t resist the cover, even if there aren’t any reviews yet!)
She has really great–and thoughtful–reviews, and her blog is really fun to browse, but what I’m most addicted to is her Instagram account.
Seriously. Don’t follow her on Instagram if your “to be read” pile is already bigger than you can handle. It’s sooooo pretty, and soooo dangerous.
Darque Dreamer has also started a really awesome feature called Faerie Tale Friday. Every Friday she updates her blog with a review of a fairy tale book! (I may be a wee bit biased as she’s reviewed all my Timeless Fairy Tales for this feature, but I can’t wait to see what other books she reads next!)
Do you guys have any book bloggers or bookstagramers you follow? Tell me about them in the comments–I MUST KNOW!! 😉 I hope you have a great weekend, Champions! (And may the best hero win! I’m seriously shocked Merlin is winning right now–that’s a first!)
I agree. He definitely had the best character development.
I do enjoy Merlin – of all the heroes, he grows the most, and goes from Irritant to someone you really care about and root for!
I agree. He definitely had the best character development.
Hahahahaha, yes, Merlin does grow a lot in the King Arthur books. He was always funny, though, which I personally appreciate. (It’s a lot easier on me to write funny heroes for some reason. I think it’s because I don’t know what else they could say?)
Thank you! I actually popped over to your website hoping you had some book recs in your blog or similar, because I need some new reading material :-). Excellent timing!
😉 Glad I could help out! I hope you found some fun new reads!
I have a friend who does a blog called The Power of Words http://booksmusicandlife.blogspot.com/ Her name is Carole Jarvis and she reviews lots of genres, unfortunately fantasy isn’t usually one of those genres! She is hosting different authors all of the time. I would love it if she interviews you!
Ooohhh, she has a beautiful website! I’ll have to check out her reviews–while fantasy is my favorite genre I do enjoy others as well! 😉
