Finally read it last night (I know, I know, I’m way behind everyone) and really enjoyed it! Lis and Channing were cute, but that king was such a hoot!!! I wondered if he was insane at first – nope. Just ditsy and dense with a GOOD HEART. So funny.

I also was very proud of myself for figuring out who the two bad guys were ahead of their reveals, although you did have me slightly confused there for a bit!

A very enjoyable read, and bonus points for the carriage version of the cliche Action Movie Car Chase Scene with Great Destruction. That was awesome. 😀

Hahaha, I was wondering if anyone would notice the cliche action movie car chase conversion! I’ve never really had one of those, and decided Lis and Vorah would be the kind of gals to excel at it. (And take poor Channing along for the ride, lol.)

Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😀

Wow every new bit of info here just makes me more excited for the Snow White and what we’ll be finding in Mullberg. Reaaaally wishing there was some kind of series forum for us fans, although based on previous comments I guess that would probably cause us to figure out way too much! Lis, Channing, and Vorah were great, and hope we’ll be able to see them again (maybe in the Final Battle 😉 ?)

Wait WHAT???
*****SPOILERS (probably)*****
I missed that! I caught “Dagger important to Verglas” (Wasn’t there a creepy dagger in Swan Lake that got handed off to the Verglas Assassins’ guild? WAIT, is that PHILE’S dagger???? Foedus???), and of course, this is the first time we’ve seen Torrens…Baris is where Phile the Robber Maiden was from, and it seems to have continued its tradition of entrepreneurial women and magical/valuable artifacts.
Who’s side are the Assassins’ Guild on??? Are they secretly undercover good guys, assassinating Chosen targets are reclaiming valuable artifacts, or are they working for the Chosen? Or are they just evil and out for their own thing?
And do we have a Wiki or forum or some other place for fan-arranged diagrams? Such a fairy tale saga on the scale of the MCU really requires the full fan-treatment 😉
What other Easter-eggs did I miss? Besides Haywood being turned by the Chosen (was he part of the VAG?) There’s so much now that I’m having trouble keeping it all in my head! Thank you, Kitty, for such a fun ride! I haven’t had this much fun digging up references and plotting fan theories since Deathly Hallows came out!

The pea holds the power stolen from an evil witch… hmm what other inanimate object have we read about that thrums with so much power it literally speaks to you? 😋

Saw it, grabbed it, devoured it. Loved all the easter eggs and name drops, especially regarding a certain dagger and some other “special guests” from Torrens at the end 🙂

Just a minor question for you, Kitty; with this taking place more or less 20 years before the main series, would the “King of Torrens” that we see in the summit of “The Frog Prince” still be King Albion or would it have changed to Prince Channing? Either way, it’d be utterly hilarious to picture either of them with the “huge bushy beard” that you’d previously described!

😀 I’m glad you liked it!

And actually, the “King” at that time is Channing and Lis’ son. (Fret not, they’re all still alive, Albion included. The change in monarchs has more to do with the country’s traditions and the fairy tale Godfrey is going to be shoved into–Er, I mean the fairy tale Godfrey gently falls into. 😉 😉 😉

OH MY GOD is Godfrey going to be King Thrushbeard?? Man I’d love to see the spoiled brat—er, I mean “opinionated” princess that he gets saddled with!
Part of the reason I love this series is all the crazy theories I get to generate now and hope to see unfold in future books. Keep up the great work!

Omg I just looked up that fairy tale and it fits already!!! One of the most defining characteristics about the King of Torrens in the Frog Prince was his great bushy beard! If it is that fairy tale then it would also be quite interesting because Kitty has never done any fairy tale adaptations where the male character is already a king, so it’ll be different seeing all the responsibilities of a king. I’m looking forward to all your future books! Thanks for all the great writing!

Downloaded and finished.
LOVE!!!
Oh, I missed your books. Your characters come alive, they are funny, great chemistry.
I hope we see Lis and Vorah in future (past?) books.
I also need to reread the whole series, including Snow Queen.
The Assassins guild and Baris, I feel they are hiding alot of good stuff. I
Thank you!! Thank you!!

Awwww, thanks, Tina! I’m glad you liked Lis and Channing! You will get to see them again. Even though their son is now King, they’re actually still alive and well. (Their son gets a fairy tale of his own, but that won’t be out for a few years since it will take place after Angelique’s stories!)

And you are right to keep an eye on the Assassin’s Guild! 😉

I am so excited! I’m grabbing it as soon as possible! Thank you for being your amazing self, Kitty! 😉

The Princess and the Pea Available Now!

As part of the 2018 Summer Reading Event, I’m giving away Princess and the Pea, a prequel novella to the Timeless Fairy Tales! It’s free, and available to everyone–so be sure to tell your friends/family who might like a copy for themselves! And be sure to snag your copy soon, because it’s available only for the duration of the Summer Reading Event.

This story–which has been added to the Timeless Fairy Tales Timelinetakes places place approximately 15 to 20 years before the events of Beauty and the Beast.

I finished writing it just in time for the event–I owe a big thanks to Rock-Star-Assistant-Meg, Editor #1 the Comma Queen, Britta, and Myrrhlynn for pitching in to make it possible to launch it this week.

I hope you enjoy it, Champions, and keep an eye out for future in posts in which I go over the original story and the rather confusing moral. Until then, enjoy the Summer Reading Event!
