Snow White has launched, marking the last book of this branch of the Timeless Fairy Tale series! As those who read the sample chapter know, the conflict with the Chosen will end in Angelique’s series–The Fairy Tale Enchantress. (Book 1, Apprentice of Magic, will be available in February!)
I want to give a big thank you to the love and support you Champions have shown for Snow White! To show my appreciation, here is the first extra I wrote for Snow White: A Mother’s Responsibility. It’s a short story from Queen Faina’s point-of-view!
For those of you who are unaware, I really appreciate honest reviews on my books! They give me feedback which is really useful, of course, but they also help future readers decide if a book is right for them or not. So as my thank you for reviews, and to celebrate a new book, I always release a couple extras! The next extra is from the viewpoint of the lords in Snow White’s cabinet–I plan to release it when Snow White gets about 75ish reviews–counting those on both Amazon and Goodreads!
But with Snow White’s end, a lot of questions have been raised about Angelique’s series, so I thought I would take a moment to cover what you can expect to see. For starters, Angelique’s series will have five books.
The first novel–Apprentice of Magic–will cover her time as an apprentice with Lord Enchanter Evariste. The following two books will follow her adventures as she runs from fairy tale to fairy tale–so for those of you who wanted to see her time with Quinn, Elle, and some of the other heroines you will LOVE these books! Since it is Angelique’s story I can unpack her interactions with others, something I wasn’t free to do in books like Snow White and Frog Prince, when the main characters have their own story that has the center stage.
The final two books will cover the clash with the Chosen. They’ll be a bit different because they’re going to feature point-of-view chapters from nearly every Timeless Fairy Tale Heroine–some more than others.
ALL heroines and heroes will make a reappearance during the last two books, and so will a great deal of the side characters you’ve come to know and love. Some of the stories will continue to progress, even! (For instance, Quinn’s soldier days aren’t wholly behind her, and Briar Rose has quite a few legendary weapons left to give out…)
Thanks for reading, Champions, I hope you enjoy the extra! In the next post we get to unpack the original Snow White tale…and I can’t WAIT! Buwahahahah…
Hi Kitty, I have a question about the mirror. We know from Snow Queen the mirror had 3 pieces missing from it but in Snow White nothing is ever mentioned to that effect. Does that mean that the Chosen found Phile’s piece and put it all back together?
I was wondering that, too
It is a bit of a spoiler, so I’ll have to say…. Kind of?
The important thing to remember is that Phile had the piece. 😀
You say “had.” As in not anymore? Or does that mean Phile’s descendant is going to pop up somewhere in Angel’s story? Please don’t let them be part of the Chosen!
Seconded!!!!
I love faina!!
And i can’t wait for angel’s series….
Yaaaay!!!
I’m so glad!! I got a little spiteful about making Faina beloved at one point–because I am frankly tired of fairy tales making the parents out to be the bad guys–and then I worried everyone might not love her as much as I do, ahahah. 😉
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I can’t WAIT for Angelique’s series to release!!! To have more of my favorite characters again… eeekkk!!!
Excuse me now. Imma go and read SNOW WHITE already and then post some long rambly reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. 🙂
I hope you enjoy it! 😀 There’s actually a sample for Angelique’s first book in the back of Snow White, so that will give you a bit of a feel for it! 😉 (Though the first book only really brings back a few characters you know.)
Can I take a stab (no pun intended, sorry Angelique) at which characters we’d see?
1. Stil (or Pest, technically)
2. Evariste (would he count? We did only meet him for like 20 pages throughout the entire series)
3. Sybilla (same reason for her as above)
4. Mages Firra and Donaigh
5. Madam Quarrelous (she seemed to really hate Angelique from that Rumpelstiltskin extra)
6. Puss!! (Or Roland, technically)
7. Pegasus (he’s been in enough tales to count)
I’m sure there’s more hints sprinkled throughout the series!
I know you have a page for fan art here on your website, but I was wondering, what is your opinion of fan fiction? I know a lot of authors hate it and I was just curious as to what your thoughts would be.
I actually don’t mind it–as long as the fanfiction writer doesn’t try to profit off it or claim my stuff as their own! 😉
When I was in high school I wrote some fanfiction, and it helped me as a writer because it let me get practice and feedback from readers.
Learning to write is an art. Fanfiction is kinda like using one of those step-by-step drawing books–it will help you get a feel for it and learn a lot.
(It helps that I am in several huge fandoms, so I understand the thoughts behind it too, lol.)
Oh, that makes me feel much better about the amount of fanfic on my phone and laptop!! I keep trying to write original stuff, but all I manage is fanfic, and I was feeling bad about it. Glad to know it’s actually useful!!!
Hi Kitty, I said this in my review too but I’ll say it here as well. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done and written! Your stories, especially the Timeless Fairy Tale, have been a part of my life since I was still in my preteens, and here I am now, 5 years later, still just as invested in these characters (if not more!) If you don’t mind me saying, I’ve had a great time seeing how you’ve improved and experimented as a writer through your stories and I just can’t believe yet another one of my favorite series is over! And I thought reaching the end of King Arthur was bad…the only thing keeping me going right now is knowing everyone’ll be back in Angelique’s story (to which waiting til February and beyond is going to KILL ME; I’ve been watching for and theorizing about the Chosen and the final battle since all the way back in RUMPELSTILTSKIN). I absolutely cannot wait to see what you come up with next, and I hope you’ll always be inspired to create more amazing stories.
Sincerely, A Long-Time Fan
Awwww, thank you so much for your sweet comment! It means a lot to know you’ve stood with me for so long–thank you so much for your loyalty and support! (Especially because, as you said, I have grown–hopefully a lot–as a writer, ahahah.)
And hats off to your long-standing theories! 😀 Hopefully you’ll see some confirmations (and some surprises, too!) in Angelique’s books.
After finishing Snow White, I am so glad to hear that that which was left hanging will be answered in the next series. As I was reading the story Fritz reminded me a lot of Snoori in the Snow Queen story – is he a descendant of Snoori’s? He was also very fast in his battling and I thought that maybe he had a touch of magic besides being Snoori’s descendant! Since he never says where he came from, I decided to give him my own background! Can’t wait for the Angelique series!
AhH! I was thinking the same thing! I’m super excited for Angel to be our main (finally!)
Actually, he reminded me quite a bit of Farrin… And his ability to sense Snow White was in danger (plus stealthy, etc) could suggest some latent magical abilities
I totally agree with you Megan. I kept thinking of Farrin when Snow White was in danger or needed support.
I am glad you are excited for Angelique’s series! (Really glad. Because that sucker is going to be EPIC!)
As for Fritz, in all honesty I didn’t plan every characters lineage because I have just so many! But feel free to use your imagination with their backgrounds. (Though there are a few characters whose lineage matters, buwahah.) 😀 But I love Harry Potter and I loooovvveee to read on fan theories about stuff like this for Harry Potter characters, so I totally get what you mean.
