I have finished the first round of edits for Reign of Magic. There’s some stuff at the end I’ll have to fix before my editor gets it next week, but it’s done! It’s also a whooping 160,000 words. For context, both of the Snow Queen books put together aren’t that long. It is a Big. Book.
Once it’s off to the Comma Queen (aka my editor) I’ll be free to catch up on some of the things I’ve been neglecting. (for example, in September we’re finally going to hold the 2019 Heroine Poll!!) I hope to do some fun stuff with you guys in the coming weeks and months–like the Assumptions Video that I’ll be working on these next few days! 🙂
Thanks so much for hanging in there with me. Reign of Magic has by far been the most difficult book to write, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated your support and words of encouragement. There were times I honestly thought it was too much for me, but then one of you Champions would send me a very sweet and thoughtful message and I knew I had to keep going. So thank you, Champions, for all the love! We’ll get through this series together!
I want to know his backstory too. Also is it normal for none of the high ranking mages to have a family or be married? Ingrid is the only enchanter/enchantress we know who was married. I know they kinda rarely marry but really?
Im so excited for Reign!! But i have a question, we know what has happened to Angelique’s parents, and where she’s from, but what about Evariste? His parents?
Am i the only one who has this question?

I am so excited; yet, sometimes it scares me to think of what could possibly happen in the books, especially that there is an upcoming war on good vs evil.
This is off topic but in my rereading of Puss in Boots I noticed that Puss is saying that men are idiots when they fall in love (or something like that), but what if Puss was talking about Evarastie, over Angel?
That would make sense- Puss was the (unheard) voice of reason in some of their arguments.
Possibly. He has made it clear many times that he knows about evariste’s feelings for angel.
Yay!!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and efforts, Kitty! You’re the best! (You really are by far the coolest author out there–and, as mentioned, my favorite!!!!) I’m so excited for Reign, it’s going to be amazing! I hope you take the time to relax and do some fun things for yourself, too! <3
This is off topic but, am I the only one who noticed that in Princess and the Pea short story, they are discussing Channing being the thief, he mentions that a dagger important to Verglas was stolen. Could the dagger be Fodeus (Phile’s dagger).
No, Ella. I noticed that too in my most recent re-reading of The Princess and the Pea short. If memory serves correctly, they also mention that there was at least one legendary weapon on the black market too.
Oh my gosh, I never thought about that! If it is Foedus, I wonder who will end up wielding it. Hmmmm…
It might be Odette herself, since the Phile analog in the present day would probably be a thief of some variety and Odette has made herself into the leader of a formidable band of smugglers.
Yes I thought that too. I also thought that the verglas assassin’s guild is looking for it, considering they had odette smuggle a lot of magical daggers in swan lake.
Agreed!
Kitty for the win!! You can do it!! Here’s the love for you <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Thank you for your hard work! Your books are definitely comforting reads and I am totally excited to get Angelique’s perspective on the events that we’ve seen her stumble through.
Yay for the heroine poll!! ❤️
If you don’t mind me asking, 160,000 words is 800 pages, right?
No I looked it up only 350 pgs.
Kitty said it will longer than the 2 snow queen books combined which would make ROM atleast 530 pages. Probably more.
k!!!!!
Thank you for all your hard work. I love your books. I read them all the time, over and over again. Your awesome and I’m glad you write books. Thank you. I can’t wait for the hero poll
Kitty!!! So, so, so, happy for you! I know you’ve had a hard time with this book and I personally would like to congratulate you and thank you! You kept going for the sake of your Champions and that means a lot! Keep being you! And let yourself grab a treat and rest!!
I so enjoy the K.M. books. I reread them for comfort the way a person reaches for hot cocoa or a blanket. Doesn’t matter how long the books take, as long as it keeps the K.M. quality I’ve come to love.

I agree completely!
That’s so exciting! I hope you have enjoyed writing it. Even if it is a beast of a book. Enjoy getting to do some other work for a bit.
Great job kitty. You writing is wonderful and you are my fav author. Thank you for creating such an amazing world. And the heroine poll, yay! I bet angel will win that one. Thank you again.
I agree I think Angel will win it for sure. (can you do an interview for the heroines to, I feel like it will be interesting to see how they react with each other)
Especially meeting the ones from other series, like Britt and kit not to mention rakel. It’s going to be such a feast!
I also feel like it will be cool to see (if) when Angel and Rakel meet, like the Snow Queen of the past and present.
Oh My Gosh- Please yes!! The hero interviews were the highlights of the weeks I found them! I feel like there would be a lot more mutual respect between the girls. The men just razzed each other a lot. 😀
You are awesome! Thank you for working so hard, I am super excited to read the book! 🙂
Oh my gosh, I am so excited! Congratulations!!! Honestly, I’ve gotten so spoiled on how fast you crank out books, but I can’t even imagine writing them so fast! Seconding Sara’s sentiment- you are my favorite author.
It’s great that you get to take a break from all the stress of writing a monster for a book! 😂
Your books are so amazing that I can already see my sleep scheduele crumbling!
Wow. I can’t wait to read this last installment. I too am so thankful that you are out there working hard to give us good, clean reading. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Kitty, for all the hard work you put into each of your books. I have enjoyed everything you have written and look forward to each new book. You remain my favorite author.
