The day has finally come, it’s the battle of warriors, princesses, butt-kickers, and spies. It’s time for the 2019 Favorite K. M. Shea Heroine Poll!
For those of you Champions who are new to our community, every year I hold polls to crown the top voted Heroes and Heroines of my books. Earlier this year we held the Hero Poll–you can see the results HERE–and now that I’ve finished the first edit for Reign of Magic, it’s time to hold the heroine poll!
The rules are the same ones we follow for the annual hero poll. You get to cast your ballot once, but you can vote for up to five heroines! The poll order changes with every refresh, so look carefully to make sure you haven’t missed any of your favorites. The poll opens today, and will close September 21st.
Who will win this year? YOU DECIDE! Vote now, and may the best heroines win!
Note: For the first hour of the poll we had a hiccup where the poll wasn’t letting everyone submit multiple heroines, it’s all fixed now but we had to delete that data so if you voted early, you can now re-cast your ballot for the full 5 heroine selection!
Let me just say- I feel like Ariane doesn’t get enough credit. She freaking put up with Lucien. And she can defend herself. I voted for Angelique, Ariane, Rakel, Quinn, and Gemma.
I voted for Angel, Rakel, Kit, Fyn, and Dylan, but it came with pain. Ariane definitely deserves a high ranking!
I know there have been a lot of new heroines lately, but for me…the ones that stood out above the rest (aside from Angelique, who is hands-down tops this time, and Quinn, who was just really well-done) are the old favorites – namely, Rakel, Britt, and Robyn. I also really, really enjoyed Rynn.
(Side note: I think it may be difficult for me to entirely separate the story from the heroine. If I really liked the story, that’s gonna spill over onto the heroine somewhat. For instance, Quinn is awesome, but that whole book is also one of my favorites, so she also got a boost from that. 🙂 )
The story definitely influences how I view a character to some degree.
Quinn is one of my favorites in part because she’s just so practical and real and service-oriented. The fact that she genuinely offers to (and does) help Angelique made me so happy; I’d been mentally going “SOMEONE HELP HER BEFORE SHE KEELS OVER FROM STRAIN!” for so many books by that point!
I know – the scene where she offered to help and Angelique just started crying was both heartbreaking and endearing (for both women!).
Too much fun!! Agonizing that one of my favorite books (Ahira) had my favorite heroes, I like Ahira, but she came in 6.
For some reason, I can’t see the poll. Is anyone else having an issue with this?
You can just go to kitty’s website and see the poll on this blog post.
I am too! and I have looked.
Kitty left a comment with the link! Here it is: https://poll.fm/10385695
Ow. Ow, that hurt! So many amazing heroines! Every year I forget how painful this poll is! I went ahead and voted for some underdogs this year, not because I like the others less, but because I figured they needed some representation 😀 Can’t wait to see who wins! Thank you sonmuch forbputting this together, Kitty!
Go Angelique!!
Hey Kitty? You have done Hero Poll interviews in the past, are you going to do a Heroine Poll interview this year? Depending on who wins, it might be fun!
Totally! We already get to see (a.e. read) how the boy are going to get along; which are incredibly hilarious with their characteristics factions. So reason will show that the girls’ interactions would be just as great or even better. Angelique would most likely hero-worship Rakel, Odette and Quinn could bond over teamwork organizations and strategies, and Kit will be complaining (yet cheerfully) that she is the only one that she gets into so much trouble (a.e. constantly dying) trying to solve her story’s issues than her counterparts; just to name a few possibilities of interaction. So Kitty, please do an interview for the Heroine Poll!!!! Please!!!
I agree
🙂 It will depend entirely how I’m doing when the poll wraps up. It’s not looking good as I’ll probably get Reign of Magic back roughly when the poll finishes, but we can always hope it won’t go so…horribly. Ahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Or maybe you’ll need a brain break and want to write something fun and quick 😉
Angel for the win.
Why????? Why only FIVE???? These polls are equal measures stress monsters and creations of delight!
I love this but it was so hard to decide! With the heroes there are some that just clearly stand out, but your heroines all have such strength and unique characters that it was super hard to decide (and maybe because you have so many great series each heroine deserves credit lol – like duh on Angelique but Kit and Britt are equally amazing.) These polls are my fave 🙂
Awww, why thank you! 😀 And I’ glad you enjoy the polls! (They are fun to watch from year to year.)
Go Angelique!! I am so happy kit is doing good too. Just like miles.
Yay Kit!!!
Hi Kitty!
Right now, the poll only allows us to vote one heroine… Could you fix it? Thank you!!
(Ps: at these early stages Kit is winning;)… Go team!!!!)
Thanks for letting me know, Laura! It should be all fixed now–though I had to reset the votes to let everyone re-cast their ballot. We should be set now!
I still can’t see the poll at all. I know that, in previous polls, you could access the poll in the post and on a different site, which was typically linked in the post– is that still an option? And if so, can you please tell me the link?
Thank you so much for doing these; I always look forward to your polls.
Hey Lauren this is the only link I have so I hope it works: https://poll.fm/10385695
If that doesn’t, I recommend you reset your internet cookies on your browser–that’s most likely why you can’t see it. 🙂
Thank you! I was able to cast my vote.
