It’s out! Magic Forged is finally available to purchase or borrow from KU!
A big thank you to you Champions for supporting me through out this endeavor! The Hall of Blood and Mercy series was so much fun to write, and you have no idea how much fun I had with you all when I was first revealing the series’ details. From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank you enough for going through this with me so I could take a much-needed break from Angelique.
I sincerely hope this little series makes you laugh, and entertains you even if urban fantasy isn’t usually your cup of tea. (And I hope you enjoy the short time between the book releases!) Hats off and cups up our community, Champions! May you enjoy this new trilogy.
Loved the new book, Kitty, and I’m so glad it was a blast for you to write AND that we’ll be getting the rest of the series soon!! My only complaint is the swearing in MF. Part of my love for your books (aside from the fact that they’re AMAZING stories!) is that I can read them with a clean conscience.
Ma’am, may I just say that you are hands down one of my favorite authors, partially because I love your subject choices, but mostly because of the life you give to those subjects. I just about died laughing when you gave real meaning to the toads and snakes falling out of the girl’s mouth in your Evangelique series. My family thought I’d finally cracked, and then when I tried to explain it they knew for sure XD. So, that being said, you take as much time as you need and as many breaks as you want. I’d rather wait years for the next installment than have you try to churn out something you aren’t feeling just yet, and I think most of us feel the same way. Hell, I waited damn near 15 years for Garth Nix to release more books about the Abhorsen world, would have happily waited longer, and I’ve come to enjoy your world’s much more than his in the last few years. I’m going to go dive into this new series you’ve written, but I just wanted to let you know how very much I appreciate your books and you as a person. Thank you.
I just realized (on my second reading of the story) that Hazel’s dress was Sky blue with flecks of white. Is this your homage to the fairytale and the dresses? Will Hazel get a new dress in each book (one for each book)? Obviously, I’m enjoying these books immensely! Thank you Kit!
Ooh, yes please to fancy dresses for Hazel! Also
I loved how Kitty threw in the donkey in a very subtle manner. 😊
Oh, I like the idea that there’d be a dress per book that’s fancy enough to describe! Even if it doesn’t come to be, gold star for a clever idea (though I kinda hope it does now…)
Loved it “You can’t toss me over a patio because you are bored” once again some great and fun characters 😃
Is it just me or do Angelique and Hazel seem similar? They both are hated/teased due to magic reasons and they get along better with a different group of people, (Angelique and royalty, Hazel and the vampires), and they are both sarcastic.
I saw a lot of similarities in their outlook on life and how they talk, too. Now, I literally just finished re-reading Angelique before reading the new book, so I thought that might’ve biased me, but now I think it’s not just me!
Just finished it, with breaks only when forced to! LOVED IT! Hazel’s smart mouth is a real blast, especially as a foil against Killian’s character. I kept laughing out loud! I’m so glad the other books are coming out soon, you’ve (partly …) made up for keeping us waiting so long for the remaining Retha books. 😉
Finished it early this morning. Can’t wait for the next one and so grateful it’s coming out in three weeks. I laughed out loud on multiple occasions. Hazel and Killian are great, and I’m so looking forward to seeing how they resolve the House and magical community issues they are facing. There was a note at the back referencing something about a short from Celestina’s perspective with the starter pack for signing up for the newsletter. Will that be a freebie later? Looking forward to the shorts after enough reviews are submitted. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So much fun to read.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😀 I’m particularly happy to hear it made you laugh–that’s always a fear of mine, lol.
And if you’re signed up for the newsletter you’ll get Celestina’s short this week–I’ll be sending a link out for the updated version! (Though in the spirit of honesty, the short story I’ll drop here on the website is longer and actually from Killian’s point-of-view)
I snuck and re-used the original download link–it now takes you to the updated file. Re-download just as if it were the first time, then you’ll get the new stories in the pack (you’ll have to manually delete the original file if you don’t want duplicate titles with different content, though–mine, at least, did not automatically overwrite).
Magic Forged was amazing and I love the new characters! I’m super excited for the next book and thrilled that they are all releasing so close together. You are incredible and I love all of your stories! Thanks for creating so many wonderful books for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks Lindsey!
I’m so blessed to have you guys who are willing to try my whims–like urban fantasy! 😉 I hope you enjoy the rest of the series–only three weeks for book #2!
When will the paperback be available?
Probably in early summer or late spring.
We’ll make all three of them into paperbacks at the same time–along with Reign of Magic–but I always wait a few weeks because some Champions find typos and I want to fix those before they are printed!
Ok thanks
I loved Magic Forged so much! It was literally the only thing I’d been looking forward to this entire month and it was hilarious! Thank you so much Kitty!
Yaaaaaay! I’m glad you found it funny!
Was it Josh?!? He was the character I had to try so hard to keep my mouth shut about–well, him and the Paragon!
Josh delights me and gave me many a laugh. We allllllll went to school with a Josh (or was that just my high school 😉 ?)
My sister and I have loved your books for years! Paranormal urban fantasy is totally not my thing, but MBRC was great and my sister pre-ordered Magic Forged, so of course that gave me reason to try it out 😂 So far, it is absolutely charming! Hazel is as lovable as Angelique or Kit (speaking of which, we cannot wait for completion of their series 😊). My sister already finished MF and it totally cracked her up. ❤️
Thanks for giving it a try even though it’s not a genre you normally like! 😀 I hope you enjoy the whole book–specifically I hope it made you smile!
Hazel was a blast to write, so I’m really happy that you like her!
Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
I love everything you write Kitty and this was wonderful! So vivid and fun and new. And I love that we don’t have to wait to long for the next one! You’re a wizard with words and I can’t wait to see where you magic us to next! 🙂
Thank you, Raelene! <3 🙂 I'm so glad you loved it! Hopefully the rest of the series will live up to it! 😉 (Only three weeks!!)
This was a fantastic read! You have again written a fantastic story! Though my heart is waiting to find out the next saga of Angelique, I am glad you are getting the break you need. I for one am NOT big into the urban fantasy…with the marvelous exception of your books. Thank you for continuing to write excellent books that I can anticipate and love, and expanding my genres. Now to wait on pins and needles for book two! (So glad for the short wait time). Thank you Kitty!
Thank you, Abby, for giving this series a chance even though you aren’t a big urban fantasy reader!
This series launch has really hit home to me just how blessed I am to have you Champions. Most readers wouldn’t make the jump to a different series/genre, or care that I needed a break, so thank you!
I may or may not have gone to bed early so that I could wake up early and read the book before going to work. 🙂 It was so good!
Now that is dedication. Bravo! 😀 But I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!
I just finished it and loved it! Can’t wait for the second one!
😀 I’m so happy to hear that! Thanks for reading! 🙂
yay finally it’s out : ) Once again thanks a lot for the trilogy kitty and for the short gaps between it And by the way when are the polls starting?? .Also, will you hold a km shea couple poll? And lastly, take care of yourself kitty I know how it feels when you get totally exhausted, you do deserve a good break now that it is finally out
Hey Sonu!
The polls will start up this summer–specifically when I start writing the next Angelique book. (I’m figuring I’ll need them as a pick me up, ahaha.) I don’t know yet if I’m going to do a couple poll… I think I’ll try to introduce a new category, but I haven’t decided what it will be!
The timeline is going to be…a little less brutal…this time around, right? Maybe the book will be somewhat less deathy for you? I’m hoping on your behalf! Thank you so much for doing it–I really enjoy Angelique’s perspectives and am looking forward to her further books.
(And, since we’re on that post, I LOVED this new book, too! So much fun, and so light while still having substance. It was exactly what I needed here at the end of February.)
