While we wait for the Summer of Poll’s wrap up–I’m working on compiling the data still–it’s time to kick off The Prince’s Bargain celebration as we get ready for its release this month. Let’s begin with a cover reveal!
Meet Translator Mythlan and Crown Prince Arvel!
As it is with my other Elves of Lessa books, the illustration was done by Nibelart, and the font was done by Myrrhlynn. Nibelart did a particularly wonderful job at making Arvel and Benjimir–from Royal Magic–resemble each other. (For those of you who don’t know, they’re brothers.)
And as many of you might have guessed from the background, a good portion of this book takes place in libraries! Yay!
The pre-order isn’t up yet, but the team and I have settled on a July 24 release! Although I wrote this book fairly fast, the editing was something of a battle as I had to do some pretty intense work on–you probably guessed it–the romance. (Alas, my Achilles Heel!) So everything got pushed back as a result.
I really hope it makes you laugh, and I can’t wait to share it with you! Until next time, thanks for reading!
I’m really looking forward to this being released soon! This is probably my favorite cover of the 3 books in the Elves of Lessa series. I don’t know, I just really like the mysterious aura that surrounds Mythlan and Arvel, since we don’t know a lot about Arvel, and Mythlan is a completely new character. And now I’m rambling… anyway, I’ll be sure to read it the moment it’s released. Go, Kitty!
Mythlan’s lovely! She has a ‘Ravenclaw’ air to her.
Just realised – if they get together, Calnor will have an elf as its future queen…
Score one for politics
I’m so excited for this book! Yay! Also like many others have said, I’m so glad your Achilles’ heel is romance because your books become just the kind of clean and intelligent romance I prefer. ❤️ I love the witty dialogue and fun situations your characters pull off. Thanks for writing the way you do!
By the way, my oldest daughter and I are so looking forward to when you write the next book in the Retha series. She has reread the series several times… 😉
Oh kitty! This is just simply wunnerful!! (gush!gush!) I’ve been really looking forward to Arvel’s book.I am so excited with Mythlan. After our previous bloodthirsty( just kidding) heroins …a nice, bookish one is a surprise! Or I am guessing she’s bookish,ha! Oh no ,now I am going bonkers over making guess..like the bracelet on Myth’s hand …how they met…..ooooh ,and she’s a silver -blonde!!!Oh dear I better stop! Anyway, thank you so much Kitty …I really love your books and I so am lookin’ forward to Arvel and Myth(cute name by the by)!!!
bye!God bless!
I am so excited! I look forward to reading this book, and it’s released right after my exams!
You know, Kitty, I love that your Achilles Heel is the romance part. You put in enough to keep the story interesting without getting gross, or explicit. Besides, too much “romance” can detract from the story and make it stop being “clean” without actually doing anything for the story. The characters tend to lose their respect for themselves and each other, and I lose my respect for them. You have great story lines, and putting in too much romance is a crutch many writers rely on. Thank you for NOT doing that. I like to see a romance progress, but I don’t need“sordid details,” if you know what I mean. Besides, without the crutch, you have to rely on INTELLIGENT story telling and witty dialog, which is what I’m looking for, and I’m sure many of your reader feel the same way.
So I guess I’m saying, thank you for having the right Achilles Heel. 😁❤️👍
Here, here! I totally agree that in most books “romance” is way over used. That’s why it’s so good to have authors who are more interested in the storyline. You could say that romance is a little like spices when cooking, just the right amount makes the whole more interesting and enjoyable, but too much totally kills the meal. 😂😋
Thanks Marietta–and you, too, Arletta!
🙂 I’m glad you guys like my romance. Since I always use it as a subplot it is a bit easier to deal with–though sometimes I worry that I’m using the same “spice” in every book, to use your example Arletta.
But, I’ll just keep working on it! 😀 As long as I don’t get stagnant I’m happy.
Kitty, you do a real good job keeping the spice just right making it a delectable entree to be enjoyed over and over again! We love your cookin’!
Woohoo~
This might be the best book yet!
Since we are all bookworms
🙂 (I guess it was going to be Arvel’s love story next! mwahahahaaaaa)
Yes!! This is the romance of the bookworms, buwahah!
Yay! I can’t wait to read about Myth and Arvel and also revisit some old friends. The cover is absolutely stunning!
Yess! I had so much fun with bringing Arion and Ben into this book! 😀 I hope you enjoy their scenes!
I’m so excited!!! I just don’t understand how Arvel’s skin looks baby bottom smooth. I think I need his face wash routine. 😉
I LOVE this cover!! It is beautiful! And now I’m torn: I’ve limited myself to buying one book a month and was all set to get Snow White for July, but seeing that cover, now I’m thinking it might have to be this one. Ah! What to do?!?!
If you’ve read the other two Elves of Less books, I would get this one. But if you want to learn more of what happened with Angel in Mullberg, get Snow White.
OH MY GOSH!!! I am so excited! I love her outfit!!!
Thank you Kitty! So looking forward to it!
I’m so excited!! The cover looks amazing, Nibelart did a great job. I’m so excited for this to come out! Keep up the good work Kitty.
Oh, wow ! can’t wait for it to be released. I just loved Royal Magic and so can’t wait to read Prince s’ bargain. And Arvel being an avid reader its not surprising that libraries will have a major part in this book. Aah! even 24th July seems too far ….
Yay for libraries!!
Benjimir and Gwendafyn are a pretty hard couple to live up to, but I hope Arvel and Myth can at least make you laugh!
Oh, I like this. Royal Magic has a human who can speak elvish and now The Prince’s Bargain has an elf that will speak Calnor. How very appropriate! And it looks like King Petyrr will get another elvish daughter-in-law. Hahahaha! This should be fun!
YES! Let’s just say I’m getting smarter about having characters who know the language so I don’t have to have language lessons in every book! 😉
I can’t express how excited I am! My sister and I have been looking forward to this book for MONTHS!!!
Yaaay! 😀 Thanks for your patience–I hope Myth and Arvel make it worth the wait! 😉
This is one of my favorite series and I am so excited that book three will be out soon. Thanks for all the work you do.
I’m so glad you like the series! 😀 (I hope you enjoy this one, then. I bring back lots of familiar characters!)
Yayyy!! I was falling hoping the next book would be about Arvel.. or at least I assumed it would be… but Yayyy! I am soo excited!!
High five for predicting the hero correctly! 😉
