Hello Champions!
Looking to get into the spirit of Halloween or have some October fun! I’m taking a break from my blog series to give you a few ideas and hopefully get you excited! (I LOVE Fall and Winter, so we’re heading into my favorite time of year!)
First off, if you’re looking for Halloween costume ideas, check out my Pintrest board of fairy tale/book costumes! (Last year I went as Gryffindor student with a bunch of friends who dressed up in other House colors–it was a blast!)
If you’re more of a decorator and you own a copy of Animal Crossing, I’d recommend checking out our discord server’s Animal Crossing channel for tips and ideas to decorate your Animal Crossing town!
I listen to a lot of music while working, and lately I’ve been listening to “Fall Chillhop” which is kinda like like softer, jazzy music mixed with stronger bases. Otherwise I’m a huuuge sucker for Ambience channels, so I found one for “Autumn Porch.”
Finally, if you like baking, Disney World released the recipe for their pumpkin bars this summer, so you might want to try it out! Otherwise Rosana Pansino’s Nerdy Nummies channel has tons of fun Halloween and fall-themed food videos!
I hope you enjoy some of my suggestions! But as a Fall junkie, I’m curious to know what you do to get yourself in the spirit of the season, so please leave your favorite ideas and tricks in the comments down below! (Mine is that I LOVE to visit apple orchards, and I’ve come to look forward to my annual Treat-or-Trick joke with Robyn Hood!)
Thanks for the ideas! I wanted to say how much I appreciate you and your books. Your books aren’t fixated only on one thing, and you never fail to deliver a laugh. I enjoy your rich cast of characters with varying personalities. You are always so kind to your champions and always are encouraging us. You are not only my favorite author, you are also a person I admire and look up to.
Usually I go to a pumpkin patch with my family every year to kick of fall, it’s usually really fun with mazes and other cool stuff. Though it might not happen this year due to COVID19.
As an English teacher, I feel obligated to do something literary or punny for my Halloween costume. A few years ago, I made a skirt out of the pages of a book and wore it with a red shirt – I was black and white and red/read all over. The pun made my students groan, but I had fun, and that’s what counts. 🙂
I live in the Rocky Mountains, and one of my absolute favorite parts of fall is driving up the canyon and seeing all the colors changing on the trees and then watching the colors creep down the mountains and into the trees in the valley. The world is a beautiful place in autumn!
Usually for Halloween, I’m something scary. Witch, scary clown, medusa (not exactly normal), but this year I want to go as an elf from the elves of Lessa series. To get into my fall spirit I love to go pick apples too, but where I live now doesn’t have any orchards near me. Another thing I do is decorate for Halloween. We have a lot of décor, so its really fun.
I love fall! On the first day of Fall I always pick out a special outfit in an over-the-top fall color scheme. I love collecting the leaves and decorating with them (brings in a little outside beauty), I wear a bunch of flannel, and I drink way too much tea… Last year I was even an autumn fairy for Halloween.
Usually Fall is when my family goes hunting, so that’s really tied in with my approach to to this season. I love those days of driving far into the mountains on rough dirt roads, the smells of gun oil and sun-warmed ponderosa, and snickers bars with lunch.
Fall is my favorite season, so I could write way too much about it.
I’ve gone as an angel for the last two years. Are you actually a Gryffindor, Kitty? Because I am, and that’s a great costume idea.
