It’s time for my second gift to you, my amazing Champions!
This week, I present to you: Life Reader
Life Reader is free starting today, 12/10, through Monday, 12/14.

If you’re a fellow lover of libraries, urban fantasy settings, and laughing out loud, Life Reader is perfect for you!
One could say Rave, our intrepid heroine, lives for books. She works in a library and her specialized magic uses books…too bad her magic is so dangerous it could kill her.
This book is technically stand alone, but I do hope to write a sequel! It won’t be until I finish Fairy Tale Enchantress and Second Age of Retha, so we’re looking at a few years out, but the story is complete and I have a hunch you’ll fall in love with Saint Cloud Library and the librarians who work there.
Happy Christmas, Champions! Enjoy your gift! And–as I’ve said before–if you already have this book, feel free to pass it along to someone that you think would enjoy it!
I feel like a narcissist seeing my name popping up all over this post, but whatever. Speaking of off topic things, am I literally the ONLY one who is counting down the days until CoMaD #2 ?!?! It’s so close to the 18th, and everyone’s being so neutral about it! Care to explain???🤨
I am definitely counting down the days, but I’m waiting for the third one to come out before I read them and THERE ARE SO MANY DAYS STILL TO GO!!!!!!
I’ll never have that type of patience, how do you do it??
I probably wouldn’t have the patience either, except most of it is coming out in November and December, and I try really hard not to buy stuff for myself in those two months since it’s so close to Christmas. I’ve been distracting myself by finding the best series I can, Right now I’m rereading Chronicles of Retha, and hoping Kitty posts the Retha surprise soon!
I think I’m going to copy you and read the Retha books while i’m waiting for #2 . . . just a side note, how long are they?? If I’m starting them today and they’re very long, I probably won’t be able to finish by the 18th.
The first two are each about the length of one of the Hall of Blood and Mercy books. The third one is a bit bigger (Amazon says the paperback is 426 pgs). Just a warning though: this isn’t a complete series yet, so if you’re wanting something complete I would go for the MBRC books or King Arthur and her Knights. Or if you’ve read those and are looking for something new, you might check out Robin McKinley. Her books are pretty short, she doesn’t do series; she’s one of my go-to distractions!
Thx, Meagan! (I couldn’t reply to your answer for some reason, so I just replied to the closest one, and I really hope you notice this!!) 😅
I got it! You’re welcome! Happy reading!
Who’s being neutral? I’m super excited🥳🥳, and haven’t heard anyone who isn’t. ❤
Hi! I realize that this is a little off topic, but I’ve been wondering about this for a while. Does Veneno meaning “poison” in Latin on purpose? And if so, why?
Veneno means poison in Latin?? Is that foreshadowing?
Finally read the book, and (as expected) I love it! 😍 I can’t believe I didn’t pick it up until now!
Yes! I’ve been waiting to get a chance to read this and now I finally have! It was very good, and I absolutely love all the characters. Great job, Kitty!
Life reader is a favorite of mine. I cant wait to read it again.
Thank you Kitty!!! Life Reader is the only book I haven’t read by you! I know I will thoroughly enjoy it! 📕📖📖📖📔
I haven’t read the book just yet, but I will soon . . . as soon as I get myself to stop thinking about books and finish my project, that is! 😅
I love the st. cloud library!
