Hey-howdy, Champions! I’m in shock and awe at about five different levels over The Queen’s Crown and its release! First of all, it reached #8 in the entire Amazon store! Yeah, #8! 🤯 I almost didn’t believe it when I saw it! So a HUGE thanks to Champions, for all your support and encouragement and for your loyalty. Court of Midnight and Deception has done amazingly well, and I’m so thankful for you all and your support.
Your support–might I add–is so lavish, I wasn’t quite prepared for it! I took a peek at the reviews on Saturday and saw I still had time–which was good because the freebie/celebrate short wasn’t quite fully edited. I try not to work on Sundays so I was blissfully unaware until I woke up this morning and saw you guys had outdone yourselves and the book had over 150 reviews. (Now, as I’m typing this, it’s almost 200.) This prompted a mild freak out because I was not prepared for that, but here we are!
The final freebie is Parents’ Night: Click here for the PDF!
It’s fairly long for my freebies, but I had a very specific emotional arc I wanted to tie up, so I hope you enjoy it, and that it makes you laugh! 🙂
We’ve got all kinds of Leila & Co. themed posts coming up which will take us through February. We’ll do some in depth look at characters, talk a little about what you can expect in the next urban fantasy trilogy (which is planned for early 2022) and take a look at some behind-the-scenes inspirations and secret Easter Eggs!
Until then, enjoy the short, Champions, and thank you for this amazing launch.
Kitty, I loved this series and I’m rereading it more slowly from the beginning to try to pick up on the Easter eggs. I laughed a lot and I’m still laughing, so thanks.
(SPOILER ALERTS: DO NOT READ THESE QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED THE QC.) On a side note, are we going to find out why you have now ended two series with a Regional committee meeting about apartment buildings built below cost for the “benefit” of unpledged supernaturals? I mean, this deal sounds better than good, which usually means there is a hidden agenda. I have a feeling this ties into the person/group the Paragon is looking for. Does the series about the Paragon tie all of these smaller series together? Are each of these smaller series being written to bring the “warring” groups together so they can face the “ultimate” threat of this outside group the Paragon is searching for (Should we just start calling them the Shadow Group since they like to use shadow monsters and try to remain in the shadows themselves?) Will we see a series about the Ancient, the Dominant, and Emperor and top Wizard (I forget what their title is.) Does Leila need to get all of the magical creatures approval to encourage the groups to accept her as Emperor? Do we ever find out everything Rigel found out when he left for 2 months and how the magic papers he was burning work and what they said?
That’s enough for now. Thanks for the great read!
Also, I love the continuing theme of the power of unity, especially when paired with fair leadership. This book was so refreshing to read. A nice escape from the world we live in today.
You can say that again! Sometimes I wish I was a character in a book, where you already everything will turn out ok 👌
i forgot to add know after already-anyone gonna back me up and join the club of clumsy typers!?
Amazing! Loved the short story and Queen of Crown’s book a lot. It was a perfect end to the trilogy. The supporting cast was really fun and the magic was top notch.
And Congratulations Kitty! You deserved it…
Wait, there is a new urban fanatsy coming? Yayyy! (Though it is coming after a year) Is it going to be in the same world of HoB and M and CoMand D?
Yes-it’s the same Magiford! We are probably going to see Leila, Hazel, Killian, and Rigel again in there!
I love these short stories almost as much as the books!!
Loved the short! It was hilarious how Linus and Paul are stirring up trouble like teens-my favorite part was the potato figure painting! Also, congrats on the best selling rank! You deserve it! 🙂
I came here to say one thing. Rigel texts her parents and keeps them updated. That is adorable. What a good son in law! Especially since his family…well they weren’t the best. I’m so glad he can have a new family with Leila!
Totally! Everyone needs parent/parent figures to do those kinds of things for. It’s so good to see that Leila’s parents (all three of them) have taken him under their wings. (Pun intended)
Thank you for this short Ms. Shea, I thought it was great!
Also, congratulations on how well your launch has gone!
Okay Kitty, I’m new to this blog. But my author name is D. B. Odd. I’m fifteen and just recently released a book. The Wizard and The Prince. Your book series King Arthur and Her Knights, is by far the best Merlin story I have ever read, I’m a big fan of Merlin. I’m really trying to get my book out there, but I would really like you to look at my book. It’s on Amazon, and hopefully you look into this. Thank you.
Greetings, I just wanted to say congratulations on your writing! I love reading K.M Shea books so if it’s anything like it, I’ll definitely be reading it! I love magic, If you haven’t already I suggest The Dragon Prince it’s incredible! Is your book a stand-alone or a series?
Congratulations on releasing your book! I saw it on Amazon and it looks interesting. Good luck!
Oh wow, this short had me laughing so much. loved the way how Linus and Paul were roaming around as teenage mischief-makers. Also Kitty you so deserve that place. Congratulations 🥳🥳
