Hello, Champions! Writing has been a bit of a slog, lately, so I decided to take some time out to celebrate a major career milestone for me! Back in April, The Queen’s Crown became my first book on amazon to have 1,000 reviews!
Because of an amazon policy I have to post a link to the book so you guys can check it out and see that I haven’t manipulated the image, so here’s that link: The Queen’s Crown
This screen grab is from the day we crossed this milestone–Queen’s Crown has already blazed on past and keeps getting more reviews. Magic Forged (Hall of Blood and Mercy #1) will catch up pretty soon, too, as it’s in the 900s for reviews as I write this.
This is a really big milestone for me as an author, and I can’t thank you all enough for joining me in this new world and supporting me along the way. I didn’t know if I’d ever get a book with over 1,000 reviews. My closest hope was Beauty and the Beast, because it’s been out for nearly nine years and has had time to slowly pull them in. I thought if I gave it another year or two it might make it. But no, you amazing, wonderful Champions made a book that was only three months old at the time pass the 1,000 review mark. Wow!
I’m so humbled and thankful for your support and love. Honestly, Trial of Magic has been a real bugger to write, but seeing the way you all rally around me and our community makes me determined to make Trial of Magic well written and–hopefully–worth all of your patience and loyalty.
Thanks for reading, Champions. I hope you have a day filled with as much celebrating as me! 😉
Magic Forged just topped 1000 reviews as well! GO Kitty!
Congratulations, Kitty! You definitely deserve that. Those books are so good. I’ve reread them several times. I’m so glad you were able to get that encouragement at this time. I know you hear from all of us champions how wonderful your writing is, but I imagine the review milestone is a very different (but also much needed) sort of encouragement. Like everyone else I am really looking forward to Trial of Magic, and am so grateful for all the work you put into the craft of such a huge project. The time you have put into this series definitely shows, and reading back through it, I can see how much you are growing as a writer!
Omg congrats!! I’m so excited for you, Kitty! You definitely deserve that many reviews after your hard work. And I gotta say, I’m super excited for Trial of Magic. There are lots of moments that I can’t wait to see from Angel’s perspective. You got this!
Woohoo congrats Kitty!!!
Congratulations on achieving the milestone, Miss Kitty. You deserve it for writing such marvellous books. 🎉🎉
Eagerly looking forward for Trial of Magic.
This is unrelated, but I was re-reading the Second Age of Retha series and I just wondered that if Kit was playing as Azarel, could she have taken down Malignus in one hit, as an echo-of-arcane’s spell can tear through any armour, defensive spells and level and down their target with a single spell, or does it only work on other players?
Probably not one shot, and the biggest challenge would be staying still and not getting taken out by Malignus long enough for the charge. I don’t think there was much cover so hiding is out, could enough players protect her long enough to cast? Not sure, I’m thinking not though, Malignus would probably gun for her first.
Congratulations! The link took me to the Australian kindle store instead but by itself its at 865 reviews! Perhaps we are looking at a 5000 review across all platforms in the next three months!
This is so well deserved, out of all the series this is my favourite. Although it difficult because everything you have written I have enjoyed.
Soooooooo delighted for you!!! 😀 Congratulations!! Here’s hoping all of your books get there! 😀
That’s so amazing Kitty! Queen’s Crown is definitely amazing enough for 1,000 reviews! While we’re talking about this, lemme just ask, it was announced at the end of book 2 that Leila would be fae representative in January. Was this because the 3rd book of her trilogy would be released in January??
So excited for ToM!! I can’t wait to see how evariste reacts to how much angel has grown and changed as a person. What about Fairrage’s (idk how 2 spell her name) song? Will we get to hear it? How will evariste react to that?? And will Pegasus deliver his promised kick to evariste (if he does, he should do it while angel isn’t there-she’ll scold Pegasus like an angry mom)?? So many things to look forward to in the 4th book!
we all love you (and your books!! gottta show those some love too)! Even if it gets tough, we support you, Kitty! Thx for the post- and u deserve the reviews! You’re awesome!
Congratulations on a single book getting 1,000 reviews. Now I’m kind of curious to find out how many all your books have gotten on Amazon if we were to add them all up together! Hmmm! 🙂
Can’t wait for Trial of Magic to come out. I just re-read Apprentice of Magic and I’m starting to wonder if a few of the Conclave Council members are Lillianna using either illusion or alteration magic to disguise herself. After all, Evariste said that she was probably as powerful as an enchantress and we know they can use their magic to perform other types of magic as well. I’m looking forward to getting the full stories on each Enchanter/Enchantress we’ve met so far, including Clovicus! I’m really looking forward to finding out what each of their core magics are and, of course, the further development of Angelique and Evariste’s relationship! It’s got to be resolved at some time and I’m looking forward to that happening, no matter which book it actually takes place in.
omigosh maybe some of angels worst haters are Lilliane’s goons!!
That’s what I’m thinking!
I dont think so really! After all it would be waaaaay too obvious to make Madame Quarrelous( for example) one of Lilianes goons!😉 I think that it might be that enchantress who had supported Angel in the Enchanters Council ( I forgot her name, I think it was Lady Enchantress Primrose)!
You’re right, Kitty normally NEVER makes things that obvious. Though I don’t think it’s Primrose-she just seems to innocent for that and always saying her thoughts aloud. And one minute she’s on Angel’s side, the next she’s contradicting that and moving back to the conclave ( the chat Angel and the council had about her helping Gabrielle and Puss rebuild . . . ) But then again, that might just be to throw us off her scent . . .
I have my suspicions it may be Galandra. She blends in so much that I forgot she was a council member. She is good at sounding legitimately concerned . As she often goes unnoticed, she could gather information without anyone noticing. She also doesn’t really pick sides at the one meeting we get dialogue from her and only asks questions, so she could be trying to get a measure of the situation for the chosen.
Ur right! I totally forgot about Galendra-she’s just so quiet and I don’t think she talked at ALL in book 2. Perfect for being a chosen spy . . .
Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
It could also be Lazare. That man is just so old and forgetful that it is hard to believe that he could pose a threat. Also, he was present at Angelique’s test and Liliane had said somewhere that their reports had told that Angelique had a lot of magic. That was the only time she expelled such a huge amount of power before Evariste was kidnapped.
Ik Lazare is a possibility, but I sorta don’t want him to. He’s just really funny, falling asleep all the time with his comments about everyone. But if he IS the spy . . . 💔 😭 I want more of his insulting Tritisism-he deserves it so much for how sour he is to angel.
Also (I forgot to say this), as another reason, Galendra isn’t exactly new, but she isn’t the longest lived on the council. This means she has been a member long enough to be trusted but not long enough to have long time loyalty (the reason I don’t think it is Tristism or Lazare) After all, Lilliane did say it “took a long time to best them” (the Conclave) so perhaps that means that Lazare and Tristism were already members when a chosen spy infiltrated .
And all your comments/thoughts are why I’m looking forward to finding out more. I’m looking forward to ToM, but I’m also looking forward to the last two books to see what the comeuppance is and who gets it. Kitty is very good at making sure the bad/evil people get their just rewards and the persecuted good people get theirs as well. I can’t wait to see how it all gets resolved! And I love the journey along the way. Sometimes I think Lazare is the mole, but then he says or does something that makes me think he might be a double agent. I think Galendra, Felicienne, and Tristism are more likely candidates, but I also think that there are useful dupes like Madam Querrullous who aren’t really bad, but have been deceived into doing bad things without realizing it. I’m looking forward to seeing what I’ve guessed correctly, and what I guessed incorrectly! 🙂
When I guess it correctly, I’m like, YES!! When i guess it incorrectly-HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT??!! 😂
Congrats on the milestone! You deserve a party! I’ve really enjoyed reading your stories.
Awww, congratulations, Kitty! We can’t express enough how much it means to us that you keep giving us stories, even the ones that are beasts to write!
