I am SO excites for the audio books. I hope you will record all of your books at some point. I have read and own all of your books. There’s just something about being read to though that I love. I know they aren’t due to release till fall but I still keep checking if they’re out yet. Lol!

I didn’t know you were dyslexic, Kitty!! That’s so cool!!
My brother is dyslexic and hated reading & writing for years.
He voluntarily writes poetry now, but I am not allowed to correct/make comments on his spelling unless he explicitly asks me XD

How fun! I can’t wait. I just finished building my sound studio for audiobook recording on ACX. I’ll be sure to look for the titles when they post. I would absolutely love to audition.

I would love to see your fairytale series come to audio, but honestly, I’d love any of your books on audio. Thanks for taking this leap of faith with us!

What timing! I was just about to start doing an audio recording of the books myself just for my own, and my families enjoyment because we love to listen to books while we travel or work or are sick or when reading just takes too much effort. As for which ones to do, I would love to see all of them completed. I agree with a previous comment about the TFT series being an easy one to have multiple narrators since they all have different stories and different points of view to share. I would suggest getting someone who has a little more energy than the woman who read Red Rope of Fate. She kind of puts me to sleep and when your driving that can be hazardous to your health. I thought she did fine in all other aspects of reading (different voices for the different characters, etc.). She just needed to be a little more energetic in her reading. Can’t wait to get these audio recordings. I love having them whispersynced so I can read or listen and not have to “find” where I left off. Thanks so much Kitty!

I love all of your books and would love to see any of them made into audio books. That’s super exciting. I reread books that have audio significantly more frequently as I can switch between the Kindle version and Audible version without having to find my spot because they stay synced through the app(s).

Mostly I’d love to see the fairy tale enchantress series get some audio love, but I can wait until you take care of the other series and will pick up those audio versions in the meantime.

I am so EXCITED! I am an auditory learner and so having the books recorded is like my dream come true! And, Kitty, don’t ask me to pick a favorite. You have yet to write a book, novella, short story, or character that I haven’t enjoyed. I’m of the opinion that EVERYTHING should be recorded!

Gah- how to choose?! I want them all! Totally throwing in a vote for finishing Lessa, but would also love King Arthurs and RETHA- of course! Angelique’s will be BRILLIANT too – and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for CoMaD! So, yeah. Basically – all please. 😁 Can’t wait to snap up HoBaM when Amazon decides they are ready to go. Congrats on yet another round of pure awesomeness!

No way! It is totally Ri-gel. But this could get controversial FAST, so I hope your audio readers get this figured out, Kitty! So EXCITED for the audiobooks!!!!

I love that Red Rope of Fate is on audiobook and am looking forward to more of your books on audiobook. However, I hope you start with completed series first such as Snow Queen or MBRC that way whomever is recording stays the same throughout series! I would also love all the Fairytales as those could have different readers without it disturbing the listening experience.

Aaaaaa this is awesome!!!
It will be so nice being able to listen to book while watching my kids and doing laundry and the dreaded dishes.
I would love all your books on audio but I understand you want to see how popular they are first.

Thanks for understanding! If I’m being honest I’m also dragging my heels a bit because we’ll do Court of Midnight and Deception next, and I 100% don’t know how the narrator should pronounce Rigel’s name, ahahah.

Don’t worry – I studied Astronomy and every single professor had their own opinion on which pronunciation was correct, which was generally not agreed upon. No matter what you’ll pick you’ll be sure to horrify some dude with a telescope somewhere…

That said, Ri-jil is the only correct way to pronounce it ;-D

Google’s opinion: https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+prouncounce+rigel&rlz=1C1GCEV_enUS862US862&oq=how+to+prouncounce+rigel&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i13l3.6288j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Which, funnily, may be the way we’re all pronouncing it – it’s just we have different ways of writing those sounds…well, it’s similar to how I was saying it.

What if we pronounced it more like the last syllable of angel, you know, just to add a clue for first time readers/listeners.

I could do it. I have read the whole series aloud to my daughter 3 times now, and so I have everyone’s voices down pretty well. Riko totally talks with a British accent, right?

How can we submit typos? I’ve run across a few while reading the books and didn’t want to be obnoxious (but personally I love a editorial/QR review of my work).

One, off the top of my head – I think it’s in the second Retha book – at one point Kit’s skill is called “violent outbreak” instead of “violent outburst”. Sorry I can’t give an exact location, I have the Enchantress books on my kindle at the moment (and my Kindle has decided it hates the internet). Although, I’ve been seriously thinking of buying that series instead of taking up Kindle Unlimited slots since I keep rereading it. It’s a wonderful series that is fun, uplifting, and still humorous on the 5th reading.

Meg handles all the error reporting, and she’d be happy to hear from you! You can reach her through the contact form under the contact tab. I’d give you the email address here, but bots crawl through comments and Meg would NOT be happy to be swamped with bot emails! 😉

Exciting Annoucement!

Sheacon 2021 has sadly come to a close. I had so much fun hanging out with you Champions, and I hope you enjoyed yourselves!

For those who weren’t able to come, the Sheacon Planners are hoping to have recordings of the panels up. (No promises until they know everything recorded correctly. They tried their best, but as we all know…tech happens.) So you can still listen to the panels! I’ll have a link for them in my upcoming Sheacon 2021 blog.

But, as I announced during my FAQ panel, I have an exciting announcement! Hall of Blood and Mercy will be releasing later this year as audiobooks!

Yay! Audio has been something you Champions have been asking for for a long time, so we decided to test the process out with Hazel, Killian, and the Drake/Medeis gang! All three books will be available at once, though I can’t give any release dates because Amazon has a review process that can sometimes take weeks or months to approve. (Generally, though, we’re hoping for a late autumn release.)

Update! Here’s the Links to the audiobooks on Audible:

We worked with the UK company Bee Audio to produce these novels, and they were such a joy to work with that we’re hoping to use them for our next audio project, Court of Midnight and Deception! (Which we will hopefully begin working on in early winter, after I get a head start on Pip’s series.)

After Court of Midnight and Deception is recorded, next we’ll probably work on either the Retha books, or Fairy Tale Enchantress, or maybe even Elves of Lessa since Red Rope is already an audiobook.

For the record, it’s my goal not to start working on recording a book into an audio book until at least six months to a year after ebook publication. This gives readers plenty of time to submit errors–and I know because of my dyslexia that my books do have errors. It’s inescapable given that I can’t tell d and b apart. But this way audio books will be recorded as cleaner copies, and will be more enjoyable to listen to! (Because once something is recorded and released in audio, we will never, ever be able to change it. It is forever finished, and we won’t be able to accept errors.)

Are you excited for audio? Which series would you most like to hear? 😉

Thanks for reading, Champions. Until next time!
