I’m so excited I can’t stand it, Champions. Autumn is here, which means my favorite months of the year (October, November, and December) are lining up! I love holidays, so these three months are my absolute favorite. (Though I do love January and February because I love winter, and–of course–there is New Years and VALENTINES DAY to think of!)
Later this month we’ll have my annual “Trick or Treat” fun where I put up both of the Robyn Hood books for free over Halloween weekend, so stay tuned for more info about that!
But since it’s the start of October, it’s prime time to talk about Bookish Costumes!
Myrrhlynn and I have a massive pintrest board filled with all kinds of book-related costumes if you’re looking for inspiration! (I think the Nancy Drew one is especially perfect since it’s low stress to put together!)
I love costumes–especially book costumes! Last year my dad and I dressed as pirates and then gave away chocolate coins for my neighborhood’s trick-or-treat time, but in other years I’ve dressed up as The Dread Pirate Roberts from Princess Bride, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, and a variety of Tolkien-inspired characters! I know you all are dying to see me as Roberts, so here’s me, with Perfect Dog playing the role of Buttercup!
Previously, my friends and I have all dressed up as wizards from Harry Potter, which was also a ton of fun! What have been some of your favorite costumes?
If my mom lets me go trick or treating this year (and maybe just for fun) I will dress up as a jedi with Anakin style robes. And hopefully my bestie can be a sith. If we aren’t allowed we might just chill at her house, dress up, gorge ourselves on candy, and watch movies.
I used to have all sorts of princess ball gowns when I was little, and small clothes were cheap. But I dream of sewing my own costumes one day. My biggest dress dreams right now are Padmé’s yellow/pink/purple dress she wore on Naboo, and Gwendafyn’s purple dress. I also reaaaally want Count Dooku’s cloak. I recently bought a lightsaber, too, so I desperately need a Star Wars costume for Halloween. Does anyone know of good quality costume companies? Amazon just isn’t cutting it these days. *sigh*
This is completely unrelated to your post, sorry, but I was just rereading Pips series, and I had a thought. Is Chloe the pretty, human woman with the black hair who works at the front desk of the Curia Cloisters? I’m almost positive I’m correct! It might be why she was up on the roof with the gargoyles.
Ooooh that’s a wonderful idea!
That’s a super cool idea!! I hadn’t thought of that.
And if Arbiter Tanaka is the hero/love interest? He is supposed to be very powerful if he is an alchemist and can make fae artifacts. And they both work at the Curia Cloisters. 😉
In Hunted, Tanaka’s hair is described as salt and pepper. So I think he might be a little on the old side to be the hero of the story.
Interesting… I have to go reread that now. I have a wild speculation that Jade the vampire hunter is King Fell’s romantic interest.
It would be rather cool to see Fell with someone *snickers *. But I’m pretty sure that Jades love interest would be the handsome vampire she was with in Pips series
I think you’re correct. Pretty sure Kitty mentioned that earlier.
And Chloes love interest is probably the elf the Paragon is looking for. I think Kitty mentioned in one of her posts that the hero for Chloes series has been mentioned but not seen in the Magiford series
That would be so super cool!!!! Oh please be true!!
