It’s only a few days left before the launch of The King’s Queen, the final book in the Gate of Myth and Power series! If you pre-order it now Amazon will deliver it to your Kindle the moment it launches in your timezone (usually, although they haven’t always been the most reliable).
I will be once again be writing a short story as my “thank you” for all the honest reviews you Champions leave! (Honest reviews being the keyword, please! And I look at Goodreads and across all the Amazon stores!) Honest reviews can help readers decide if a book is their thing or not, and I’m so thankful that you’re willing to spend your time leaving a review–it a big deal for authors!
My plan is I will release the short story when we reach 100 reviews but… uh… I’m going to be honest that I will probably be a day or two late. This book was so long it kind of killed me to get it ready on time – I’m one exhausted Kitty right now, and I keep getting migraines since I drank too many caffeinated drinks to keep me going during the writing process and now I’m suffering from withdrawal apparently. All of this to say…the short still has to get completed/edited. Ahahahah. But I promise I will get it to you as soon as I can!
In the meantime, here is the description for King’s Queen!
Pre-Order: Amazon.com | All Other Amazon stores
When the elven king of death released me even though my existence is a threat to his kingdom, I took the chance to run. There is just one problem… I also fell in love with him.
Nothing like a little doomed love to add a dash of intrigue to life, right? Unfortunately, that’s not even the worst of it.
I’m a worrier on my best days, but with a psycho tracking my every move because he’s obsessed with killing me, I’ve graduated to the level of paranoid lunatic.
Even if I could forget about the tracker—not happening since he’s figured out the fastest way to get to me is to attack my adopted family—my regular life is also anxiety-inducing as the city of Magiford is brewing with trouble.
Someone is setting off increasingly powerful magical spells downtown, upsetting all the humans. The supernatural community is desperate to find the perpetrator, and the top leaders are convinced the psychotic tracker chasing me is in on it. Their solution? Use me to capture the tracker for questioning.
What none of us counted on was Noctus—the elven king of death—interfering. Turns out I might not be the only one to regret our parting. But is there any way he could help me, and still keep his kingdom a safe secret?
At least one thing is for sure: I’m in way over my head with this, and my gut is warning me that I’m about to test if cats really do have nine lives.
Yesterday (Thursday) Kindle teased me, sending a message that it was available, but it was a lie. However, I woke up at 5:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I checked. I’m on page 8 and already mentally sqee-ing at the start, seeing three familiar characters from Hall of Blood and Mercy. I don’t expect to sleep until
I’m done, then tonight before bed I’ll be starting again reading aloud with my wife.
*Cries in Eastern Time* RIP
You are doing sooooo amazing Kitty! Thank you so much! I hope the caffeine withdrawal is going ok🥰
Don’t worry, you’re about to give us a big fat juicy book to read, so even if you took an extra week or two to write the short story, we would still be fine! Make sure to take care of your body! My favorite writing drink is….milk. Milk, and more milk. It’s slightly fattening but it’s delicious, it doesn’t have side effects (except perhaps a bit of pudge which can be easily worked off once your writing binge is done), and did you know, that it has recently been scientifically proven that milk is actually more hydrating than water? I was ecstatic when I found out about that, being a total milk maniac from the time I was little. Of course, make sure to drink water still!
Aw, it’s okay to wean down on the caffeine instead of cold-turkey, if that helps! Also, you said “one exhausted Kitty” but my brain supplied mental images for “one exhausted kitty” so now you are a fur puddle ;-). Hope you’re feeling better soon!
I’m very much looking forward to it.
What a thrill! It’s just around the corner! Thank you very much for your hard work… you don’t know how much your dedication fills us. Watch your health!
Thank you so much for all your hard work! I hope you feel better and can get back to healthy soon!
I am looking forward to reading it on Friday and I already took some time off so I can sleep more after staying up too late and reading it all 🙂
I am so excited for the King’s Queen!!! I have a count down on my phone for the number of days left until it releases and have been dutifully staring at it since it was on 50 days (I still can’t believe we’re so close to the release date… only a couple gruelling days left to wait!). Also really psyched that it’s around 100 pages longer than The King’s Captive (an extra 100 pages of Chloe, Noctus, Charon, Aristide and Ker – what’s not to like?) Thank you so much Kitty for all you’re doing for us, take a long, well-deserved break after the King’s Queen comes out and make sure to indulge yourself in the praise that will undoubtedly come rolling in from all us Champions! You’re one of the best authors out there Kitty, not just because of your awesome writing, but because you care about your readers – don’t ever forget how amazing you are!
100% agree!!
So excited for the release! Thank you for working so hard to get to us! Make sure to rest and recover, you sure deserve it. Praying for good days ahead of you, Kitty.
