This is my first comment on Kitty’s blog, but I’m pretty sure I’ve read every post (and most of the comments) on the FTE and TFT series. I love these books and am so looking forward to book 4. I have raved about them so much that my husband is reading them!

I raved about them so much I read all the TFT and FTE books to my parents (my dad keeps asking when book 4 is coming out) and most of my sisters, sister-in-laws and nieces have/are reading them. It gives us something to talk about when we get together for holidays and family reunions. I’m trying to get my youngest brother to read them.

This relates to Kitty’s newsletter she just sent us last night. In it she says that she is editing ToM and that it’s like editing all three of the books from the Hall of Blood and Mercy trilogy. Well, I just added up all the pages from those books and it came to 882 pages. Wow, Kitty! That’s long! It will be interesting to see if the final version of ToM is close to that number of pages or not. Either way, I’m so looking forward to this book. I’m planning a day of pure bliss! Thanks for all your hard work.

Btw, I daily (sometimes multiple times a day) check Amazon for the book, not because I’m afraid I’m going to miss it, but because I want to pre-order it as soon as humanly possible! 😉

I also check daily, though not to preorder (I read on KU😌), but because I’m really interested to see what cover design will be used for ToM. The covers for the previous books are just FABULOUS🤩 and I’m really excited to see the ToM cover.

I love the covers for the FTE series! In my opinion, they are tied with the MBRC covers for the best series covers of any of Kitty’s books. I feel like everything about both of them perfectly captures the main characters and the feel of the books, except the magic is the wrong color for the FTE covers. I do wish that they had done silver magic, but that is getting a bit nitpicky.

I noticed that. I think it may be because she only uses auxiliary most of the time, so that may change in the future covers and art. Or they couldn’t find the right color. Either way the covers were really well done!

This is kinda unrelated, but I was just wondering what Enchanter Clovicus’ core magic is (somewhere in the series, I got the impression that he had weather magic as his core but I don’t think it is mentioned).

I get the feeling that it’s healing, but like you said, it hasn’t been said definitively yet.

In AoM at the end it was mentioned that Angelique thought someone like Clovicus would be better suited to check out the house than Lovelana because her core magic was healing . . .

I thought his core magic had something to do with tracking people when I read that in AoM and before I read RoM.

I think that he has earth magic or something like that. He did say that one time his magic flattened a hill as his price.

Good Point. But there is also that part just before the Summit where it was suggested he might come and Sano was sent to take his place even though he wasn’t as powerful. Of course, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Clovicus has the same kind only more powerful version of Sano’s magic. I’m really looking forward to finding out what his magic is, especially since the magic and how it acts seems to give insight into the magic user’s personality and character (not the same thing, I might point out).

Speaking of, (sort of) I looking forward to see how Angelique’s price and evariste’s limit factors in to the final conflict. Angelique will probably have to be strategically used so she doesn’t get deathly Ill, And evariste can’t really use his core in the presence of darkness (which is literally what they are going to be fighting) so my guess is that she’ll be handling battle and he will be handling taking troops to battle. This of course is and assumption and it may turn out differently.

Only Evariste’s core power, that is, portal magic does not work in the presence of dark magic as the portals become unstable. But the other powers that he can use as an Enchanter (like elemental magic, weather magic, etc) do not have the same limitation. So my guess is that he’ll use portals to transport but later on he’ll participate in the battle with other kinds of magic.
