So I was wondering if you have other recommendations on the LitRPG genre that a similar to your A M Sohma book in style and humor (not super dark or heavy) I’m not a gamer and have never read this genre before but gave The Luckless a try because you wrote it and LOVED it! I can hardly wait for your next book to come out and was wondering if you had some fodder to help feed my new addiction 😉

If you haven’t read them, “Heir Apparent” or “User Unfriendly” or “Deadly Pink” by Vivian Vande Velde are quite possibly the best LitRPG books I’ve ever read. (Heir Apparent is one of my all time favorite books ever!)

But in warning, they will set your expectations too high for the rest of the genere–which is sad because nobody can pull off humor like Vivian!

You had mentioned a potential sequel for Red Rope of Fate sometime next year (yay!). I was wondering if you had any plans for a Life Reader sequel? Also, I can’t wait for your next A M Sohma book!

Uggghhh I so badly want to do a Life Reader sequel, but financially speaking since it’s my worst selling book it’s hard to prioritize.

Once the Timeless Fairy Tale current-arc ends, it will open up my schedule a little more as currently I have to release certain fairy tales in certain months, which does clamp down on my schedule availability. (But that is years away)

How did you come up with the pen name A. M. Sohma?

I wanted to go with something that still had the last name of S, but I like having SHORT names because it’s way easier to write and I wanted something that stood out a little more than a more common surname like Smith, so I asked Myrrhlynn and Rock-Star-Assistant-Meg for help. Sohma was what we settled on. 🙂

I came up with the A. M. because I’m hoping one day I’ll write with ANOTHER pen name and then I’ll use the initials P. M. 😀 Get it? Haha? (J/k)

A. M. Sohma vs K. M. Shea

The different rounds/heats for your “Favorite Secondary Character Poll” are finished! There’s only one poll left which will determine the absolute favorite secondary character! I need a little time to prep for it so I won’t be posting it today, but next week.

In the meantime, the winner’s from last week’s poll who will progress to the final round are: Puss with 145 votes, Pricker Patch with 83 votes, the Black Swan Smugglers with 77 votes, and Lady Delanna with 61 votes.

In honorable mentions we have the little orange kitty who fell in love with puss with 58 votes, Odile and her pets with 57 votes, Empress Sonya with 56 votes, and Mage Donaigh with 45 votes.

The results of this poll were both expected and a surprise. I was seriously banking on Puss taking first–he’s one of my favorite characters to write because of his attitude, so I was going to be heartbroken if he didn’t make it. I was happily surprised about Pricker Patch and the Black Swan Smugglers–though I did have an inkling that Lady Delanna would make it in as well.

A big thanks to everyone who voted–I can’t wait to see the final round! (Though I expect it will be pretty difficult.)

Since we’re not holding a poll today, I thought it would be a perfect time to cover a little more information about my new penname, and what it changes for future K. M. Shea books.

Thanks for reading, Champions! Have a lovely weekend!
