I’m not sure if I see the image correctly on what you titled it as Magiford Supernatural City. That’s an image of Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia and I happen to live in this city 🙂 I’m now so hoping to bump into Hazel or Leila. Won’t mind saying Hi to Rigel too… although I doubt he would even look at me…

Ooooh, you live in a big city? Sounds like fun! Get ready for a horde of questions-
-Do most people live in apartments
-Is it noisy?
-Does it rain a lot?
-Does everyone love drinking and eating stuff like coffee and donuts?
-Are there loads of theaters?
-Do you see limos pass thru there?
-Are rockstars and moviestars and cool people everywhere?
-Are there lots of things like boutiques and stuff?
-How do people dress?
-Is there tons of graffiti and alleyways??
-Omigosh how does it feel to live in a big city/captail??
Sorry, just the thought of a big city makes me starryeyed-and Kuala Lumpur is one of the places I’ve had on my must travel to when I grow up list for a long time!

I think it’s Celestina just due to the fact that she was mentioned in a short story for both HoBaM and CoMaD. Leila obviously knows her fairly well, due to the fact that she used to go over and train the Drake’s dogs. Hazel knows her well for obvious reasons. As far as I can tell, she’s the only one that really appears in a short story for both HoBaM and CoMaD. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series of trilogies!

I think it’s the new peace officer that was interviewed in one of the shorts. She was mentioned at the end of one book and then directly interviewed somewhere else. And I think there’s a tie to the apartment building somehow maybe? She would be a different supernatural as well. Wizard Hazel, part fae Leila, and she was mentioned as a vampire slayer.

I’ve been going through all the Magiford short stories and recording female characters who show up in both with the probability to be the new protag, after I finished I came up with only one who was in both. Momoko. There is a chance that some of the other readers are right and that the black cat who popped up in “Sincerely, House Medeis” is, in fact, the protag. But who exactly would it be? This cat’s human form would have to be mentioned in a CoMaD short, and I can’t find any female that would fit the part. Anyways, that’s all I have right now haha.

I’m going to guess that it’s Tasha. She is a Drake vampire and she is mentioned by name in one of the HoBaM shorts. She could be the vampire who asks where the shooting range is located at Leila’s party. We’ll see.

Maybe the stray black cat who was deposited on Killian and given up by the fae trying to obtain a pet is a person? Under a spell? A shapeshifter? That was a fun treasure hunt! I can’t wait to find out for sure!

Ooh that’s brilliant!
Personally I would love it if the cat and Phillipa/Pip were the same person. Cat shifter as part of a werewolf pack – that would be so much fun! Though I suppose she does introduce herself as human, so that’s a bit of a spanner in the works.

Maybe she wants to be with the werewolf pack so she introduces herself as human-and has a charm to change her scent so that no one can tell she’s a cat shifter-because cat shifters and werewolves don’t get along.

O-M-Goodness!!! I can’t believe it, you might be right! That black cat meets the criteria better than any people characters in the series!

Wow, I don’t think I ever would’ve even considered the cat. I mean, you could be wrong, but it’s such an incredible thing to find in the shorts!

My vote is for Phillipa/Pip. Chase introduces her as a packmate and she tells Leila that she’s actually human. She was also holding hands with the Alpha until she saw Chase, so there’s all sorts of angst potential there. We need to know what’s going on in the shifter part of the community.

Hi everyone! This is MyrrhLynn (one of Kitty’s assistants), I’m not going to confirm or deny any of the guesses for the third trilogy of the Paragon’s search, but I am going to drop an extra hint for you.

Here is what Kitty said:
“Even better, we’ve seen and heard of the heroine that will fill out the third trilogy of the Paragon’s search! We saw her in a Hall of Blood and Mercy short, and she was discussed in one of the Court of Midnight and Deception books and a short as well.”

Here is what Bella said as part of your comment brainstorming:
“Also I’m pretty sure every person that popped up in a short story was in the actual books so that wouldn’t make sense either… ”

Here’s the tip: Bella’s statement has a FALSE assumption in it. There is a specific word in the statement that means you are all making an assumption and narrowing the focus of your search.

One more bonus tip, Kitty was being very careful when she said: “seen and heard of”

Good luck Champions! 🙂

So we’ve heard of them-people mention her
Seen them-doesn’t talk, just there in the background

I think that’s right?? Well, now I’ve absolutely GOT to reread the whole HoBaM again and the shorts! Finally, something to do during Spring Break. I no longer miss homework!

When she’s seen and heard of, is she mentioned by name? Or just like a quick description of what she looks like done by the narrator?

I am not sure at all who might be the two next heroines! One might be Philipa or Celestina. Though Kitty has been going in a certain pattern for her urban fantasy heroines that the new heroine is like not mentioned a lot of times in the last trilogies of the other heroines and the hero is completely new! So I think it might not be Momoko as she has been mentioned a lot. Might be The vampire slayer also. Though I can’t wait to know the hero!

I think it’ll be Momoko as well. I also thought Celestina. And as much as I would love that to happen I really think it’ll be Momoko.

I believe it’s going to be that ‘police vampire slayer girl’.
I can’t remember her name though.

I’d love to have a trilogy of the mysterious person in the third book of the Court of Midnight and Deception!

It’s celestina! It has to be!! I just reread all the hall of blood and mercy shorts and she was mentioned in the first short and the third short and then the first court of midnight and deception short. Then in the second book lalia holds a party and invites hazel and killian and says hi to celestina when she comes in.
I hope I’m right!! I think i am!

I have no idea who the next heroine in the Paragon’s search is, but I’m guessing that Phillipa might be the heroine for the spin-off trilogy.

Yeah I think so too! I have a feeling that the Paragons elf contact might be the hero!

The only woman I can think of using the clues, who’s mentioned in both the shorts, is Momoko. She’s in “How to Train With Vampires,” and in “A Jaded Vampire,” but I don’t think it’s her and Josh because Hazel and Killian were already a vampire-wizard romance. The only other woman I can think of at all is the older vampire who wears the kimono. Hazel mentions seeing her (I think twice) in her series, and she’s the one who gives Leila relationship advice, but she doesn’t show up in the shorts, so…

Yeah I’ve got nothing.

It could also be Celestina. She was mentioned in “How to Train With Vampires” and all of the HOBAM shorts, she was also mentioned in the Court of Midnight and Deception books too (I think 🤔). But I don’t think it could be her because of what you said about the vampire-wizard romance thing. Kitty, can you also tell us if we mentioned who the heroine is yet?

I was also thinking Celestina!

SAME!!! I read every short story multiple times and couldn’t find anything that actually made sense… Also I’m pretty sure every person that popped up in a short story was in the actual books so that wouldn’t make sense either… I think we need a hint here 😉

I can’t wait! It all sounds wonderful! I’m counting on your Champions to figure out the next heroine ASAP. 😁 Cuz I need to know!

Can you give us a hint as to what species this next heroine will be? I was leaning towards a vampire or wizard as the ones in the “Hall of Blood and Mercy” and “Court of Midnight and Deception,” but I also know many have speculated you are going to a series about each of the different supernatural races and how they individual overcome conflicts that cement their ties to the other races, kind of how the 11 books in your TFT series worked.

Magiford Supernatural City!

As we start to wind down all the Court of Midnight and Deception I thought this was a great time to discuss the future for my urban fantasy world! First of all, I have an exciting announcement–the world is going to have it’s own name, which will make future series in this universe a lot easier to identify. I’m calling it the “Magiford Supernatural City” world/universe. 😀

I already have quite a few plans for this world, but I thought I’d go over what you can expect. As of now (2021) the plan is to release one series per year. Currently I plan to write only trilogies in this world, and most likely they’ll all follow the same launch pattern of approximately two months to get all three books.

There will be an arc that tangentially follows the Paragon and his mysterious quest–which we now know from what he’s told Leila that he’s searching for someone. The Paragon’s search will have four series total, with two of them being Hall of Blood and Mercy and Court of Midnight and Deception. (This means you’ll get two more trilogies to tie up the Paragon’s search.) I’m guessing some of you will assume that means the Paragon will be the hero of one of the two remaining trilogies, but he’s not. The Paragon has a very…strong personality, and it’s very unique which is honestly a bit difficult to market. At this time I have no plans for him to have a trilogy of his own, but I might give him a standalone novella or novel depending how everything finishes. (I still have other series to work on, after all.)

The next Magiford Supernatural City trilogy–which I’ll release in 2022–will not involve the Paragon’s quest. It’s going to be a spin off of sorts–I’ll get into the specifics of it in the next post!

I do already have plans for a few additional spin off series–besides the trilogy that will launch in 2022. All of them will tackle different kinds of supernaturals and issues, but you’ll always get to see a few old characters in each trilogy. You’ll find that I’ve planted seeds to these spin offs in the four trilogies that make up the Paragon’s quest!

Even better, we’ve seen and heard of the heroine that will fill out the third trilogy of the Paragon’s search! We saw her in a Hall of Blood and Mercy short, and she was discussed in one of the Court of Midnight and Deception books and a short as well. 😉 Can you find her? (I am planning for this heroine’s series to launch in 2023.)

That’s all for today, Champions! In the next post–which is the last Magiford themed post–we’ll talk about the next Magiford Supernatural City trilogy!
