Moved the book & short story. Jade’s family is totally intense & that did come over in the book but is totally funny here.

Fir tge book, found the naming of Robert funny & Considine’s surname apt. Look forward to the next book

I love the short story and love the new series. Each series has been better than the last, and that’s saying something. It’s the developing relationships between the characters that make these books so special (specifically including the relationships with the “cast,” not just the main characters), and reading about Jade’s relationship with her family is sooo cute. Love it.

Love Family bonding and look forward to the family’s response to her romance given their response to the movie they watched! But…what movie is it a veiled reference to? I can’t think of any vampire/fairy godmother crossovers!

I loved the fact that all of Jade’s siblings and father can’t cook (just like her!). The story was also extremely hilarious! Her family is wonderful, I can see why she would miss them. Great short story!

I mistook a couple of the images – I thought King Harel’s image looked like a coffee cup with a crown so I went in a different direction with it. And I thought the dish of food might have been Cat Tails, since it’s appeared in several books now. I can never recall the name of the Flying Curry but I always recognize Rajiv. 🙂 Is there a map of town out there somewhere?

Super cute short story. Like most people obsessed with their work, even supposed down time is work adjacent. So funny to see Jades familiar traits in other people. I loved the comment that they never should have tried cookies without Nan. She seems to be the only one in the family that can cook, except their mom who they all felt was holding out on them! Sounds familiar with recipe hoarders, if anyone else has one of those in their family! Can’t wait for book 2! 8 more days 😌

I was also convinced it was a coffee cup with a crown. I also thought the calendar was the Fall Festival (event = date = calendar). Given the loose definition of “cameo” she was using – having one be an event and another a cup of coffee seemed on par.

Short Story: Family Bonding

Are you ready for a bonus short story? The Lies of Vampires and Slayers is now out, which means we have officially kicked off the next Magiford Supernatural City trilogy! Book # 2 will be out January 12th and book #3 will be out in early April. I'm really sorry for the delay between books 2 and 3 but my writing speed continues to be slow thanks to my pesky health problems and it takes me a lot longer to finish a book than it did in 2020 or earlier. But enough sad talk, time for some happy news! The reviews are in and I am so happy to see the Champions reaction to this book. I was sick with a cold for the whole week leading up to the book launch so I might be a bit more emotional than usual but my Champions are the best! Once again your honest, detailed, and oh so sweet reviews have let this author touched and humbled. So thank you. We hit the 100+ reviews between Goodreads and Amazon in record time-if I hadn't been sick for over 10+ days I would have posted this earlier! And now the moment we have all been waiting for! What did you think? I knew from the moment I started writing this series that I needed to do a short story starring Jade's family.
