Loved LOVED the twist with Rothbart in this story! So………. there’s a Veneno Conclave rule that sorcerers and sorceresses can’t have children?? Is there more info on that?

It’s more that sorcerers and sorceresses are almost always rogue magic users–meaning they won’t submit to the conclave’s authority and they typically use forbidden magic. You’ll learn more about it with the next fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty!

I quite enjoyed your book. Alexsei was an awesome character.
I am getting a little bit tired of heroines who shout at anyone who tries to complement them though.
Can we have a heroine poll?

I’m glad you liked Alexsei! (He’s such a sweetie!)
While at one point or another I’ll probably host a heroine poll to see which of my girls is the most well-loved, I won’t ever hold a “most wanted” heroine poll. My heroines play a much bigger role than my heroes in the story, so the plot of the book is always intertwined with their personality. (Try swapping out the girls and you’ll see what I mean. Dylan of the Little Selkie would have made a HORRID Swan Queen as leadership isn’t her strong suit, and Elle of B&B would have offed Rothbart a day or two after being turned into a swan! Now that I think of it, it would be HILARIOUS to write something where all my heroines switch stories. Hahah!) Thanks for reading!

First off, Swan Lake is fantastic. I love these shorts. Is it bad that I really like Rothbart after his short? He was only trying to help Odile! Second, I was re-reading Farewell to the MBRC. I have two questions. Who exactly is Madeline? I get the feeling she’s a little more powerful than Morgan thinks she is. I mean, Krad knew who she was! Also, does Fran get back with Ethan after the book ends? He really loves her!

Ellie’s reply is correct–you get to hear more about Fran and Ethan in some of the freebies and in the extras in the MBRC anthology. As for Madeline, you are right. She is quite a bit more powerful than she let’s on. When I finally get around to writing the story about Aysel and his gal, you’ll get to learn a bit more about Madeline! 🙂 (Also I’m thrilled to hear you liked Swan Lake! I had mixed feelings about Rothbart the whole time I was writing him!)

I think in one of the short stories answers the second question.

Ding ding! Ellie gets a gold star! Fran is back with her elf-boy (married no less) in the freebies. 🙂

I loved the Empress, I’m a mom with two boys and I’m pretty sure she is my new mom idol! #GladI’maChampion

First of all, I love the hashtag! Secondly, I’m thrilled you love the empress! I try not to have favorite characters in a book–it can be bad for the story mechanics–but she was just so funny! I couldn’t help myself!

This was great, but didn’t realize it was a two parter, very cruel. Come on people – more reviews!

Hahaha, I originally had other plans, but Benno and Odette were a little more talkative than planned, so it got split up. 😉 Hopefully you’ll enjoy the second part when it comes out!
