Could we please get an update on the status of the last King Arthur book? Is it still slated for fall-ish?:)

I LOVE your books!! And just finished up with Swan Lake and the extras and was wondering how many more comments are need for the last extra? I posted mine to Amazon, but I’m still curious to how long before the last is unlocked!!!!

Kitty

July 26, 2016 at 10:14 PM UTC

Swan Lake still needs a handful of reviews, but I’ve decided to post the final freebie at either the end of this week, or next Monday at the latest. 🙂 (It will depend on my schedule, it’s been a bit cray-cray lately!)

Caitie

July 22, 2016 at 06:58 AM UTC

Yes, it is. Though your other writing was just fine too. By the way, I noticed you cut back on Bad Poetry Days! 😉

Kitty

AHahah, I usually do those when I’m feeling overwhelmed/sick, and thankfully I haven’t been sick lately! I’m sure I’ll bust them out again. Whenever I have a headcold I am inspired by silly words. 😉

I just finished reading your blog from start to finish! (It took a little while.) It was so cool to see how many people are on your blog now compared to when you first started. 🙂 Love your books!

Kitty

Wow, A+ for perseverance! Those first few months of blogging were pretty boring–my stats don’t even count them anymore. I commend you for busting through them! Hopefully you’ll find that my writing is better now as well. 😉

I loved Swan Lake. It was one of my favorite books!!! I love all your books and I can’t wait till you write the next King Arthur book:)

Kitty

I’m so glad you liked it! I had an absurdly fun time with some of the characters–specifically Empress Sonya–so it makes me really happy to know you enjoyed it. Thanks for the message! 🙂

I appreciate the timeline you provided for the fairy tales and I think that to go along with that it would be interesting to see a map. It would be a most welcome dimension to the stories. Just something to think about 🙂

Kitty

June 30, 2016 at 08:13 PM UTC

Hi Elizabeth! I really would like to include a map too! Unfortunately, my drawing skills culminate to stick people, and it’s actually pretty hard to find mapmakers these days! 😉 I do hope to one day have a map made of the Timeless Fairy Tale worlds–but, sadly, it probably won’t be for a few years.

Hi Kitty just asking but when is the June monthly newsletter going to be out? cause if u sent it, i still didn’t get it yet, and i don’t want to miss anything (like if i hadn’t randomly checked today, i never would have seen the new amazing covers or learn that SL would be available next week so)

Kitty

June 08, 2016 at 09:34 PM UTC

Hello Jessa! It should be going out either late tonight or early tomorrow morning! I wanted to wait until I could include the link for the pre-order (otherwise having to track it down is such a drag) and I have some other exciting news I’ll be sharing in the newsletter as well! Muwahah! Anyway, yes, the wait has been on that pre-order page. I fell behind a bit with my timeline so it got pushed back to loading it up today. 🙁

Are you a fan of Princess Bride? I’ve been re-reading all your books and I keep getting glimpses of lines, but I don’t know if that’s just cause I’m a huge fan, or if you actually did it on purpose ?

Kitty

May 24, 2016 at 07:19 PM UTC

I do like the Princess Bride, but I can’t say I purposely tried to include bits of it. But I get what you mean! I would describe my humor as being a lot like Princess Bride–or like any of Diana Wynn Jones’ or Vivian Vande Velde’s books–which is probably why my stuff is of a similar flavor. 😉

Mog

May 20, 2016 at 10:17 PM UTC

Oh – and I hope this is not being rude to keep on adding questions, but as a writer, what do you do to create a world – I was just thinking that Rakel’s country seems to have a strong Finnish flavour to me (one of my favourite countries to visit, so yay!) and wondering how you invent the cultures?

Kitty

May 24, 2016 at 07:20 PM UTC

No, not at all! It gives me ideas of what I should write about. (And you’re right. Verglas is a melding of Norwegian and Finnish culture) I’ll be sure to add it to the list!

Mog

May 17, 2016 at 07:12 PM UTC

A few posts ago you asked us to write in if we had questions. I was wondering more more about magic in the Timeless Fairy Tales world – does having it change a persons physical appearance ( I’m basing this on Rakel having snowy hair, Tenebris being snakelike, Angelique and Stil being unusually good-looking ) or is that just their own character quirks?

Kitty

May 19, 2016 at 08:06 PM UTC

I’m actually about to post something about Enchanters, but you raised a very good question! I’ll have to make a post that takes a look at what magic does to a person. Thanks for adding your question in!

Mog

May 20, 2016 at 10:09 PM UTC

Thank you!
I also have many questions about Britt’s stories, but I have a feeling most of them are spoilers (such as – if Britt is no longer ageing, can she get back to her own time by just being very very patient?). However, I was wondering about the setting – I get its more set in Mallory’s world than an actual historical time period, but are you basing the clothing and architecture and so on on a specific period or more a fairy tale middle ages.

Kitty

May 24, 2016 at 07:24 PM UTC

Yep, I can confirm that the “Britian” Britt is in is the “Britain” of the legends/stories/ballads. Each book/episode is based on a particular ballad. The problem with the ballads is that when they were written, they were supposed to take place in the “past,” but it’s not realistic because when Arthur WOULD have been a live, there would have been no such thing as castles, and knights serving kings wasn’t even a thing. I do, however, use historic details for the clothing, food, and castles. It’s just borrowed from a later era than Arthur would normally be in. (It’s kinda confusing, but I have a few blog posts that talk about it in further detail I could dig out for you)

Hi! I just noticed that you still have the free Princess Ahira book showing on your home page! Not to be rude or anything. Just wanted to let you know! 🙂

Kitty

April 27, 2016 at 06:27 PM UTC

Hahah, no, I know you weren’t being rude! In fact, it was kind of you to point out. 🙂 What happens is that in an effort to save me time, I only edit that top post once a month–at the beginning of every month. It’s a bit lazy of me, but I try to save time whenever possible on the small stuff-like that-so it gives me more time to write and interact with my Champions. It is shocking how much math and time-management rule my life considering my job is creative/language focused.

Hey, I’d just like to say, I really like that you are redoing all your covers. Not that I didn’t like the old ones, but I like the new ones better. You see, I’m really bad at visualizing people even when they have been described in a book. So having a person on the cover really helps me get into the story. Love the latest Britt story and can’t wait for the last!

Kitty

April 13, 2016 at 11:21 PM UTC

I’m glad you like them! Myrrhlynn and I have had a lot of fun choosing the photos–Rumpelstiltskin, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella will be getting new covers next!

Kitty

March 22, 2016 at 09:20 PM UTC

Yes! Aysel and his gal will get their own book–which I’m hoping to work on in 2017 after I finish the King Arthur series this year. I’ve been chortling over Aysel and his not-yet-seen romantic love interest. She is going to be soooo good for him!

I’m just DYING to read the last two extras….especially the one about Oskar. WHAT HAPPENS WITH HIM?! I looked into trying to put in a second review on Amazon but that’s not allowed. Sigh. I’ll keep checking here everyday (or more) until they are unlocked!

Kitty

March 15, 2016 at 12:31 AM UTC

oh don’t apologize! Swan Lake is one of my FAVORITE fairy tales and the first one i fell in love with (by reading, not by watching a disney movie too) and seeing that your retelling is being worked on is almost better than getting an extra. (note: ALMOST. i still love the extras more ^.^ )

Kitty

March 15, 2016 at 12:57 AM UTC

There you go! I haven’t released the post yet, but if you check the top post that keeps tally, you can grab the link to it there. 🙂 Also I’m glad you’re looking forward to Swan Lake! I hope my adaption will live up to your love of the original. 😉

I love love love love all of your books but especially the timeless fairytale and the snow queen!! Will there be anymore timeless fairytale stories?

Kitty

March 08, 2016 at 09:13 PM UTC

Aww, thank you, Chloe! The Snow Queen was a really fun experience for me–I really enjoyed being able to lengthen her story to two books. And to answer your question, yes there will be more Timeless Fairy Tales! Swan Lake will launch this summer, and Sleeping Beauty is in line for a December debut. 🙂

Kitty

Hi Mog! You can leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads, or both! You don’t have to notify me–I keep a close watch on the reviews for these first few weeks so I keep tabs on how many have been posted. (The next short is actually due out today!)

Breezy

February 28, 2016 at 10:51 PM UTC

Hey, I and my entire family are like crazy excited every time your books come out!! Your worlds and characters are enthralling; good morals abound; every single line is family-friendly. We literally have dinner conversations about how good we think each book is. So naturally I’ve read every one that you’ve released. I’ll have you know, I was rooting for Devin in the MBRC from the start and though I love Merlin, I wanted to facepalm on his behalf a lot. I’m very, very interested to see where the King Arthur series will go in the next novel (and very pleased to know it’ll be full-length this time). The snow queen books were marvelous. There was nothing I found annoying or off-putting about Rakel; she was a wonderful, well-rounded heroine with faults, but whose strengths surpassed them. I love how that is something found in all your books. Each time, I go “that’s the kind of person I’d like to be.” Ferrin was a delight to know as well; his scenes were so heart-touching. I really liked him. I would LOVE to read more freebies about them! Thank you for writing so much, and so well, and so creatively! I and my family will always look out for your stories:)

Kitty

February 29, 2016 at 12:56 AM UTC

Wow. Thank you for your comment, Breezy! I feel very honored that you enjoy so many of my stories and books, but I’m especially happy your entire family enjoys them. I’ve always felt that the best stories are the ones the whole family can read and enjoy–like Chronicles of Narnia. While I’m no C. S. Lewis, I still feel incredibly honored that your family finds my stories fun and worthwhile. Thank you for reading, and thank you–especially–for your heartfelt comment. 🙂 It was very encouraging! (Also, I hope you enjoy the extras–the first one just got unlocked today!)

Alitha

February 24, 2016 at 04:40 AM UTC

I wanted to also express my delight and horror in your novels. I have read everyone within the past month. My poor house and the amount of sleep I’m getting is suffering severely. They are so fresh and I have found myself laughing more than once. Unfortunately, now I am dying to find out what happens to Britt ( the last one I’ve read) . And checking every day for updates on all series. Please keep writing, and maybe get a few guards to answer your Beck and call. 🙂 thank you for some wonderful stories

Kitty

February 25, 2016 at 04:58 AM UTC

Thank you for your lovely message, Alitha! I know I should be sorry that you’ve been losing sleep, but as a fellow reader I know that’s a sign of some great stories, so I’ll be honest and admit I’m delighted. 😉 Thankfully I’ll have a new book for you soon–Snow queen 2 will be out Friday. Hopefully you’ll find it just as fun and entertaining as my other books. Thank you for reading, and thanks again for your message–it made me chuckle!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE ,LOVE ,Heart of Ice! Its got amazing mages and their abillities. My mom is likening Heart of Ice too but she hasn’t finished it yet. Thank you soo much for revealing the cover. I have been dying for this book I am sure I would have died if I had to wait an extra day.

Kitty

February 25, 2016 at 05:16 AM UTC

I am SO happy that you liked the mages and their magic. Heart of Ice has the most magic in it out of all my books, and it was…challenging/painful to create the different types and show how it could be used in battle. (It was especially difficult because I wanted magic to be a little more brutal and less refined than it is later in the story world.) Anyway, I’m glad you liked it, hopefully you’ll enjoy Sacrifice just as much! 🙂

Sarah

March 08, 2016 at 03:02 AM UTC

Sacrifice was just as amazing as Heart of Ice. The ending was very satisfying because there were consequences but she still kept her magic. As I was reading the book again and I remembered that it was hinted that Phile would set up her Thieve’s Guild in Verglas, and I also remembered that Verglas was the country with the assassin guild. Is that a coincidence? You do not have to confirm or deny, it’s just my speculations. 🙂 Also so sorry about the spelling typos in last comment, *cough* spell check *cough*

Kitty

March 08, 2016 at 08:44 PM UTC

Aww, I’m glad you liked it! As for Phile and her guild… 😉 Let’s just say they do have a profound impact on the current Timeless Fairy Tales timeline. +5 for excellent observation skills though!

I just wanted to say I love your books and I own them all, but I had a question about one of them, in Farewell to the M.B.R.C what did Brett do that was so bad? I looked back through both the books but I could never figure out why Fran didn’t like him any more.

Kitty

February 16, 2016 at 03:26 AM UTC

I’m glad you’ve liked my stories! As for Brett, I’m planning to release an MBRC short story sometime this year that tells you exactly what he did. Let’s just say Fran’s scorn is warranted. 😉

Jessa

Hi K.M. Shea!
So I know it’s probably cause you are busy or something, but I think that the Snow Queen (btw fantastic book) has almost 150 reviews (I think like 148 last time I checked) so doesn’t that mean the last short story should be unlocked? (YAY!)

Kitty

January 12, 2016 at 12:05 AM UTC

You are right! So, I just unlocked it. I apologize for the delay–I was off my computer all weekend so i didn’t see what happened. Lol, everyone is too amazing for me! 😉

Kitty

Sorry I didn’t see this until now! Most of the Snow Queen short stories are now unlocked–there’s only one left! You can snag them at the homepage https://kmshea.com or under the freebies tab. 🙂 I’m glad you liked the Snow Queen, I hope the sequel is just as entertaining!

Tweedledeetwin

December 27, 2015 at 11:14 AM UTC

My sister and I totally loved the snow queen! The quality of your stories just keeps us coming back, I’m wondering will there be some love for our rober maiden? Or do you have any fairytales you haven’t done yet that you want to write about- it’s fine you can keep it a surprise 😀 until then we are eagerly awaiting part 2!

Kitty

January 03, 2016 at 02:40 AM UTC

Hahah, you are either very sharp-eyed, or you know me well. 😉 Yes, there is a romantic love interest in store for Phile, although it will mostly be explored in the short stories I plan to release after Snow Queen 2 is released. (Partially because book two has so much happening in it, it’s already the longest Fairy Tale I’ve ever written!) And while I am keeping some of the fairy tales under wraps, I can reveal that you should see Sleeping Beauty and the Twelve Dancing Princesses in the next year or two. 😉

Tweedledeestwin

January 17, 2016 at 04:16 AM UTC

Snow Queen was great! I left my review. I don’t suppose there’s a way to tell how many reviews there are and how many to go before we get the next short? I’m dying, there’s stories out there that I can’t read!!

In the short story it says that Rekel blinked at the bright light shouldn’t it say that phile blinked just wondering. Also how do you pronounce Phile and I’ve loved the series so far

Kitty

December 21, 2015 at 09:48 PM UTC

LOL, I read the short, my cover artist read the short, and Editor #1 read the short, and all of us missed that. 😉 I guess we’re so used to Rakel at this point we didn’t notice! Anyway, Phile is a greek name–it’s the feminine version of Philo. It’s pronounced a little like the word filly, but if you want to hear the spot on audio version it’s here: http://www.pronouncenames.com/pronounce/PHILE

I enjoyed reading puss in boots, great addition to the series looking forward to the next timeless fairytale

Kitty

August 28, 2015 at 01:40 AM UTC

Hi Stefanie, I’m glad you liked the story! I was a little nervous because technically it’s a prequel, so I’m stoked to hear you enjoyed it. Hopefully you’ll like The Snow Queen just as much! 🙂

Cassia

August 20, 2015 at 09:16 PM UTC

I really enjoyed Puss in Boots. I love the banter and trust between Puss and Gabrielle; as well as Puss’ inability to manipulate Gabrielle. Their success is due to their partnership, and this adds depth to the story.

In the original tale, Puss reinvents and changes the Miller’s Son fate through lies and trickery. I find it fascinating that despite the fact that Gabrielle is desperate to escape her fate as a village wife, she refuses to lie about who she is. Although Puss tries to invent a noble background for Gabrielle, she stubbornly clings to the truth. It is in fact, her deep-rooted ‘commoner’ realism and practicality which make Gabrielle such a successful adventurer and hero.

I could go on at length about everything I enjoyed in this story, so I will stop here. If there is one thing I could change, it would be the story’s length. Your books are always too short, and I am left wanting more!

Thank you for writing. Keep it up. 🙂

Kitty

August 21, 2015 at 02:35 AM UTC

Hello again, Cassia! I’m happy to hear you liked Gabrielle, I feel like she doesn’t get enough credit for everything she does (Which is pretty odd now that I think about it as I control what credit she does get!) and her independent/commoner personality makes her easy to over look when one compares her to someone as colorful as Dylan or Cinderella. So, yes! I am very, very glad you enjoyed Gabrielle’s tale. 🙂

Well we have another winner! Puss in Boots was adorable and I really enjoyed getting to see more of Puss and just exactly what the dynamics between him, gabi, and Stephen – it was all just amazing. I really want to say that these books truly are amazing and make me smile. waiting for the next one is always agony but its also such a treat to see the next part of the adventure brought to life in the Timeless series. My favorite overall though is probably red rope of fate – so good and has that sweet and spice mix that has me going back for more again and again! Thanks for all your hard work and I’m excited about the Life Reader sequel!!!!

Kitty

August 10, 2015 at 03:35 AM UTC

I’m glad you like the Puss in Boots AND Red Rope of Fate! I have a major soft spot for Red Rope as it was such a sweet story to write. It was sort of my guilty pleasure as I don’t usually write books in which the main plot is romance. It was pretty hard for me as Romance is not my strong point, but I still enjoyed it, so It thrills me that you also like the story so much!

Ashley

August 09, 2015 at 07:38 AM UTC

I love your books so much! Are you going to write sequels to Red Rope of Fate or Life Reader? My favorites are Rumpelstilskin and Cinderella and the Colonel. They make me laugh, sigh, and fall in love with the characters.

Kitty

August 10, 2015 at 03:32 AM UTC

A sequel to Life Reader will be coming…eventually. Although Life Reader is my secret favorite book, it is sadly my least popular one, so its sequel is sitting on the back burner for now. I will return to the world of Red Rope of Fate, but I’m not certain if it will be a sequel to Tari and Arion’s story, or if it will involve a new cast. I’m glad to hear you like Rumpelstiltskin and Cinderella! Thank you for reading. 🙂

Life Reader is your least popular book!?!
But it’s my favorite! 🙁

Kitty

September 08, 2016 at 01:59 AM UTC

Yep, it is painful to admit as Life Reader is also my secret favorite (shh, don’t tell the other stories!) but it is the least popular of all my stories. 🙁 I am committed to it, though, so I WILL eventually come back to it! (I love it too much to abandon it.)

Kitty

August 21, 2015 at 02:24 AM UTC

Thank you for the feedback, Cassia! I will admit that book descriptions are my weak point–it takes me forever to come up with them, and I’m generally not very satisfied–but Life Reader is especially hard as it involves a hidden magic system. Hopefully I’ll be able to take a crack at the description soon, but as I mentioned previously it’s low on my priority list right now.

Cassia

August 19, 2015 at 10:27 PM UTC

Life Reader is also may favorite book. However, I put off reading it until I had read almost all your other books. The reason for this being: The book description was too confusing and didn’t make sense. (You should consider revising the book info.) So I passed over it numerous times. I finally read Life Reader once I became addicted to your other books; then it instantly became my favorite! I am so happy to hear that you have a sequel in the works. 🙂

I just finished Enlighten. I loved it! This has been my favorite series, and I have to say the Sir Kay is one of my characters of all time! Also, are you going to write a sequel to Life Reader?

Kitty

June 12, 2015 at 07:24 AM UTC

I hoping to get a sequel for Life Reader out in 2016! (It’s long overdue for its sequel, but it keeps getting pushed to the back burner by more demanding projects.) I’m glad to hear you like King Arthurs–I too have a soft spot for Sir Kay. He’s so sweet and accidentally charming!

I’m a new reader, too! I’ve been binge reading this week and just finished your Timeless Fairy Tales collection. Fairy tale retellings have been my favorite mini-genre for 20 years. I’m not sure how I stumbled upon your books on Amazon, but wow!–they didn’t disappoint. I’ve been waiting to find a new {prolific} favorite author for over a year, and you now hold that honor. I just downloaded your freebie gift of Enthroned and am looking forward to checking out your other work. Keep it coming! 😀

Hi Lauren, thanks for checking out my work! I’m glad you like Timeless Fairy Tales! I started writing them because I am also a big fan of fairy tale adaptions/retellings, so I’m super glad you’ve enjoyed the ride! I hope you like Enthroned–Merlin seems to be the pet/favorite of that series, so I will be interested to hear you like the most! 🙂

Just finished Rumple. I only have one complaint. It was over too fast. OK, Stil was just amazing. Love him. Gemma is a perfect balance for him too. I would love the extra chapter. I need to do the review!!!!!
You did it again you talented lady. Thank you.

It is so nice to have witty herroines and honorable heros who can be both fantastic and “real”. Love the CLEAN romance.
Looking forward to the extra Cinderella chapter.

I love your writing. Amazon recommended Princess Ahira, which I fell in love with, since reading that book I have bought and read all of your books. I am glad I have found a new author to watch for!!!
